One of the best anime I have seen. Classic. The story is very engaging and the illustrations are quite excellent. Do you have any classic anime recommendation?

Agreed, that's mine as well.

There are certain manga, like Love Hina, that even though I have read a number of times over the years I know that if I start reading it I won't be able to stop until I have finished it (or until I can't see straight anymore). That's my definition of a classic.

According to your favorites, I would say that Kare Kano would be the best of them all.

you say manga in the title
yet you speak of anime in ur OP...whats up with that?

and i very much hope you speak of the first movie and not the horrible cash chash cashIN filler filler filler that is the tv showS...?

the manga is good...but i prefer the first movie...lots of technobabbel in the manga and it is very slow and uninteresting at some points

some manga i consider classic that i like
Tiger Mask
wrestling and an easy to like protagonist

Lupin Sansei
very funny

Kamui Den
probably the best feudal japan and or ninja story ever made

Kozure Ookami
feels like it lives off of kamui dens success but is really awesome

I'm not sure what you would consider classic, but I think of classic as manga that has stood the test of time and remains popular years after it has ended. For me, these are

Banana Fish - Possibly the greatest manga I have ever read. I have read it more times that I can count.

Hana Yori Dango - Usually I hate manga like this one, but hana yori dango is so good it is impossible to hate, even for cynics like me.

Sanctuary - With the exception of how women are treated, which is kind of key to the style of the story anyway, I love this.

Angel Sanctuary - I'm slightly biased about this one as it was one of the first anime I ever saw and the 3 OVs weren't nearly satisfying enough, so I started reading the manga. In some ways, this was my first manga, so naturally I treasure it. However, I do believe it has a good balance of depth, action, emotion and complexity.

Fruits Basket - This is both funny and tragic and inspiring and entertaining, just a brilliant manga.

Classics that is kinda hard there are some great ones. Yu Yu Hakusho was great in manga form. The anime isn't bad but, I prefer the manga. As much as DBZ is hyped the Dragonball manga was really fun to read. Its has great humor and the fight scenes don't take 9,999 hours. Shoujo wise I have to say I really love the Sailor Moon manga and Ranma 1/2. The Sailor Moon manga is much different than the show the only thing some might not like is the very light shonen and shoujo ai.
