I can't remember if it was a shoujo or a shounen manga, but it's about a guy who gets into fights and can't make friends simply because he looks mean. In reality, they guy's actually pretty subdue and really just wants to be normal and get along with others.

I remember there being an incident where the girl that he develops a crush on forgets a text book (or dictionary or something) for their next class. The guy overhears it and immediately sets out to go all the way back to his house to get his copy so that he can loan it to her. The teachers thought the he was just rebelling and causing trouble, so when he gets back, he--of course--gets into trouble for leaving school grounds.

A few chapters later, he also makes friends with a girl who's known for dating a lot of guys.

It's only been a couple of months since I've read this series, but I cannot (for the life of me) remember the name of it. Can someone help me out?

Kimi ni Koishite Ii desu ka. There is also a oneshot to it, which I honestly like more, but the serialized version is good as well.

@Suxinn: No, series that I'm asking about was only around 8 or 9 chapters as of this year. But I must thank you for mentioning Angel Densetsu. I think I want to try it out now.

@Jidan: Yup. That's it. Btw: I didn't know there was a oneshot. I felt that way about Good Ending, you know. The oneshot was so much better than the series.

Thank you both

I dont know the one shot of GE, but i once tried the series and I didnt really like it much so I dropped it again.
The one shot of Kimi ni Koishite Ii desu ka is Akuma ga Kitarite. It's tagged as prequel here on MU but the events have no relation to the series, so it shouls rather be called a oneshot. Well, I just like this one shot more, because of the way of narration and the series seems like it is gonna develop into a generic shoujo...
