Here are the series that got a lot of nominations but didn't quite make the cut:
Fruits Basket
Ore Monogatari!!
Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
1/2 Prince
Kare Kano
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

Ah, well. At least my vote helped HxH to come in 2nd. Not that I ever expected anything but FMA to win, of course.

This time's poll is much easier, since mainstream shoujo are all pretty "Ugh" in my book. I vote for Natsume Yuujinchou, which I'm pretty sure will be runner-up, since Skip Beat is going to win. Hopefully Natsume can still beat Ouran. Go, Natsume!

It seems that Skip Beat is winning again this time around. While I also think it's great, I voted Basara, mainly for its high level quality in story depth. I was not expecting it on the list and I'm happy to see it there.

Skip Beat already a sure win, my vote still goes for Basara by a long shot but a little disappointed for Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori missing from the list

Skip Beat! isn't as great as it was 6 years ago. Far from it in fact. My vote goes for to Natsume Yuujinchou. The storytelling and characters are simply wonderful and the series raises all kinds of emotions and thoughts. Definetely Natsume Yuujinchou!

Not really into shoujo, but I loved Fruits Basket and Maid-sama was fun as well.

Voted Glass Mask since I feel the mediums created from it is also part of what makes the manga good. If it wasn't on the list I guess it would be Natsume which I have enjoyed a lot, one of the good works with spirits in them. Walking the balance of the real world and the spirit world very well.

I agree with how No.1 and 2 shook out and the sole manga that didn´t deserve to be in the top 10 came last. How nice but Titan´s middle of the road placing is a big surprising.
FMA was the only series i nominated myself last time and i don´t remember choosing Last Game but it´s head and shoulders above the rest and Mars isn´t present this time.

How come we can vote for last time´s winner Skip Beat! again? It is clearly going to win... Again.

I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.

Skip Beat is awful. I'm voting for LSL and Koi dano Ai dano. Why isn't Taiyou no Ie on that list?!

Kaichou wa maid-sama didn't make it? That one I consider to be one of the best mangas (irrelevant of genre), though ending there wasn't all that good I agree.

But anyway I consider Skip beat to be 10/10 too, so I voted for skip beat... because it is the only 10/10 in this list...

Though shoujos were easier to choose, because I kinda knew more names for some reason than in shounens, even though I'm a guy.

Though most of the series, I either stopped reading, because they became boring, or they just don't make it to 10/10, some are even below 9/10 for me...

I dropped Skip beat a long time ago, I was getting so annoyed at a certain point. wonder why so many people like it. My friend still bought the newest volume, but she does not recommend me to pick it up again no

I'm disappointed that Kimi ni Todoke didn't make the list as it is my fave shoujo cry . I voted for Akatsuki no Yona because I really love the characters.
