usually, yes.
Whenever i visit a comic shop, the first thing I look for in a book would be the art.
And then I'll pick it out and read the description to see if it fits the type of genre i like.
=D

I put "Only if it looks really cool/horrible", but more and more I've been paying less and less attention to the cover page pictures. I've found a lot of series that I've avoided for having really fugly cover pages are actually pretty good once you read them.

I almost always read the description no matter what, but if the cover is really unappaeling to me, I'll generally skip it. But no, I like too see the descriptions, reviews, and at least the first chapter before judging a manga.

i think everyone will juge at least a manga by it's cover, I usualy love great art and most of the manga with bad art i started to read, i don't read them anymore...

so if the summaries seems fine I will try, even with a bad cover, though if the art is bad I hate it..

if the summaries doesn't interest me, i don't see the point of to start reading, even with the more bad as... cover ever made..

Uhm, first impression is important. I remembered some time ago, when I first saw Claymore Vol 2 Cover on onemanga, I dropped it without hesistance. After I read Angel Densetsu, I tried to read Claymore again, and it turned out to be quite good(until recentlybiggrin)

Depends upon what's on the cover. If it's something sexually suggestive (a nude person, a couple who is way too close or on top of each other etc.), I'll never even consider reading the manga. However, so long as there is no such scene and the cover looks normal, I'll decide by reading the description and the comments, if there are any.

I used to... it's suprising how mangakas art can change so very quickly and old covers can mislead as to the actual current state of the manga. So I almost never pay much attention to the cover and read the description.

I use to, and still do, but have learned that I need to look through the book first because sometimes the cover art is always bad and/or has nothing to do with the series at all... unfortunately. I usually read the description after, but I still need to look through the book anyways as those can be unreliable, too.

Yea, but i eventually come back to it. I mean I did that with reborn on OM, it looked weird at first then I read it and loved it.

Yea I do
It gives me an idea of what kind of drawing style the manga is gonna be in
But sometimes the art on the cover is misleading and manga art is hideous

Yes but I soon find out some covers are kind of off relating to the manga. But I only read those when I have nothing better to do. If I like it I continue reading them.

Usually the cover can tell me a lot.

I mean... you can tell a manga is Shoujo usually just from the cover.

I go Cover -> Genre -> Description when deciding for me.

Sometimes. I usually read the description but the cover art does play a part. Although a manga was rated pretty high in the MU genres lists I may not pick it up for a while because the cover wasn't too appealing. Also, if I'm going to be reading it, I want to make sure I like what I'm looking at bigrazz

Yeah sometimes, but the cover can be hideous and the art inside can be beautiful or the other way around.
