Quote from Liria
Hrm. Does Saiyuki count as a primarily fighting manga? That's my personal favorite. (DragonBall's fights go on forever.)

Thank you! Someone that agrees. Discussing the method you will use for fighting for 4 chapters or worst 4 episodes doesn't actually count as fighting...cough *dragonball* cough...though it does have its moments.

My vote goes for Hajime no Ippo maybe even Ares

Ares is first for me
Vagabond gets second
and Hajime no Ippo gets third

History Strongest Disciple Kenichi is my first.
I really like traditional martial arts over ninja, super warriors, mages, and shinigami.

Dragonball until the middle of Volume 17(The Dragonball Z) Is my second.
IMO Goku as a kid is so much better than Goku as an adult, and I hate how they threw in the stupid power level and saiyan thing. This took away any show of real combat skill in the series. It just goes "someone trained/unlocked secret power, so now someone is now stronger then the villian without any explanation or techinque needed." Super Saiyan is the pandora's box for any fighting series.

and Negima is my third
eventho it didn't start as one. Its really evolving is a Magical Combat Series. Its really great how Akamatsu has complete changes his style on this series with a 10 yr old genius and no 16-18 yr old loser.

The one I just read in Wolf Guy was pretty fun ^_^

(But I'm sure there are "greater" ones out there; it's late and my brain's not working well anymore.)

Definitely Shigurui. The author actually practiced for many years kendo and different kinds of martial arts so he knows what he's talking about.
