Hajime no Ippo would be the best in my opinion.......

There is better fighting in other mangas out there (most are already mentioned so I will not repeat them) but like Maalik, Hajime no Ippo is among the best overall fighting manga when all is taken into account (comedy, characterization, story, fighting...)

Ippo FTW!!!

Ares has some of the most beautiful and...fluid...fighting involving swords/weapons.

It's so realistic you sort of get scared :<

although the ecchi was a little to much for me, I think airmasteris a very good fighting series.

another one I really liked was change guy.

IMO, Vagabond. Followed closely by One Piece.

Grappler Baki. Just because of the sheer amount of fighting in the series.

I didn't actually think anyone would dare to mention Naruto or Bleach.... A sign of an adult swim fan??

I'd say Holyland or Ares for me. I really like Ippo as well. And I would also like to take notice of HSDK. I've been into it for a year or two and recently there has been a huge surge of releases. That latest of which have been coming from Nerieru at an astonishing rate.

Objectively speaking, i think Hajime no Ippo has the best Fights, but anyway Dragonball is still my favourite. Also, although it`s kind of different i really like the "battles" in Initial D biggrin

Should be in Manga General.

And nothing, no matter the awesomeness it entails, will ever top Dragon Ball as the greatest fighting manga/anime. Ever. Period. End of story

I don't usually get blown away by fight scenes; then again maybe I just don't read manga with amazingly good fights. That said, I'll just give my vote to Claymore.

Bleach has very dynamic well-drawn fight scenes, where you can always tell what's going on. Theres nothing wrong with admitting that a good cheesy predictable fight manga is also decent art smile smile smile
For pure badass though, things like Berserk (after the first 3 volumes or so), Blade of the Immortal, or more realistically Vinland Saga win.

I remember reading a Korean comic called Dangu a while back which had very well-drawn fight scenes; also something called Banya about a courier in a post-apocalyptic world. The characters in both these were a bit boring but it was worth it for the fights and quality of the drawings alone..

I must check out Ares, looks interesting..

Hrm. Does Saiyuki count as a primarily fighting manga? That's my personal favorite. (DragonBall's fights go on forever.)
