the title may sounds confusing so here an explaination:
so the main character is in a relationship with someone.
but before there was some incident or because of the past of the main.
with incident i mean for example, the main saved his partner from dying/getting hurt.
after that the couple dated but after realizing that the other side is only dating because of feeling guilty or something else, the other side/main wants to break up because him thinking it being unfair for the other side and himself/herself not deserving him/her
i prefer shounen/seinen but anything else is also ok.
no hentai no shounen ai yaoi yuri shoujo ai

This sounds so shoujo, I don't think you'll be having much luck in the shounen/seinen department.
