Let's put together what we know about the vampires in Hellsing:
#1 they're immune to the UV ( "Sun doesn't harm me. I simply hate it." <- Alucard, don't remember which volume, probably the one with elevator action chapter )
It's a quite big difference when we compare Hellsing vampires with other vamps, for example from Anne Rice books. Actually, almost in every movie/book/manga vampires are dead afraid of the sun...
In the end, is that difference good or bad for the manga

#2 they don't have to drink blood daily ( Victoria restraining herself from drinking for a long time, Alucard drinking whenever he felt like it ), but they get weaker with every day of "diet"

Well, ok...that's more like the regular vampire image we're used to. But how was Victoria able to keep herself from drinking for such a long time? Don't the young vamps usually have a really scary apetite?
Is this still realistic or not?
#3 they can get seriously hurt by holy objects ( silver from a cathedral cross, father Anderson's knives )
No changes here.
#4 master/father - servant/child relation ( as usual )
#5 how about the garlic? ( that's actually another question, as I don't remember )
#6 they seem to...breathe? or at least they're sighing

That's not all, of course. I count on you guys to list a lot more interesting things about Kouta Hirano's vampires, as they seem to be the quite original ones!
(actually I still can't believe, that this is the first topic on Hellsing's forum...even though the manga and anime are so damn popular)
