.Net developer
Was a one-off and the pay was okay, but boy did it make you feel dirty inside.
How the .net framework gained acceptance is beyond me.

Events organizer.
Was lured into it by an acquaintance. Too much running around for too little money. Too much ass-kissing with sponsors. Too much drinking.

Wedding photographer.
I'm a retired commercial/fashion photographer fyi, but my forte has always been situations where I can control the lighting (studios, strobes, reflectors...etc). If I wanted to do spontaneous crap, I'd take sports, street or conflict photos over cheesy weddings full of "joyous" people any day.

I work at a call centre for incoming cable repair...

I've always thought this must be one of the most stressful jobs, mostly regarding technology services. I rarely have a problem, but when I do people at the other side of the line treat me like if I was a 5 year old; actually I don't blame them because there are such people complaining about the slow ISP and they have bunches of toolbars and useless applications in their browsers ┐┐.

During my time as a waitress, the restaurant owner & manager were nice to me (thank goodness!). However, the customers could be horrible. They'd have a group of 15+ people, and at the end of the meal, there was a 2 dollar tip. Wow!

Not leaving tip in 15+ group is like an insult, no one is obliged but there's something called "common sense". The more demanding, the more senseless ones.
Don't forget the ones who after the feast ask for independent bills, the stingies for sure, and the ones who have no money at the end. Seriously, I have seen groups of friends fighting about that: "I don't have enough", "I already gave my part", "You asked for that expensive wine", "It's not fair dividing the amount", goshhh, if you can't afford don't go or solve your problems before or somewhere else!

As for me, cashier is the one. Different times at different events. Fortunately never had issues involving money. But for sure:

Bad wage, the endless change problem, treat lots of people who don't even try to smile or almost blame you for their lives and still being nice to them, the typical costumer who lectures about the service in a "subtle and diplomatic way" as if you were the provider, manager, owner or even the complaints box, the flirtatious guy, the drunk, the funny one (often in company of girls)..... (can continue), and, of course, Mr. Capital who after a failed business, stares at you like a robber or culprit.

Maybe isn't the job by itself, but the amount and kinds of people you have to deal with. The risk of finding the no-little group of the unpleasant.

Sales Assistant in my grandad's sport shop. I knew pretty much next to nothing about any form of sport.

I currently work as a cleaner in a university though - the type of job that involves cleaning toilets at 6am in the morning - and while it's hot, sweaty and very routine-based, it also means I'm constantly on the go. I think the worst jobs are the ones that involve a lot of waiting around for something to happen.

Worst job?
Cashier. Hands down.
Try working in a in a snobby neighbourhood, tip-toeing around these people's needs and wants, trying to guess what on earth goes on in their heads, because if something (joshforbid) doesn't match their expectations - it's your fault.

Agreed. I worked at a fast food joint. Sucked majorly at it...and the manager was really strict, the customers were v. whiny and picky. Hated it - got paid below min wage (they still had training wage then). Horrible, horrible. If I have a kid, I'd push them to get retail jobs, if possible. It's gotta be better than fast food.
