Burritos have beans, and tacos don't. Therefore...

Soft shell + meat = taco.

And so...

Hard shell + meat = nachos. At least in my case, I always end up breaking it up. But I am pretty sure you shouldn't be eating tacos with a fork.

wat?

A burrito is just a flour tortilla filled with whatever you want to put in it.

A taco is a corn tortilla filled with whatever you want to put in it, and is typically not closed and wrapped like a burrito.

Nachos are an American invention, so they don't really count.

You fail. The hard shelled taco came after soft shelled. A taco can be be soft or hard shelled, it's what's inside that constitute whether or not it's a taco. Refried beans, spanish rice, or meat wrapped then grilled is a burrito.

Anyway, tacos are awesome.

What with all the food topics lately?

That's a taco. It has beans, rice, and is in a soft corn tortilla.

What makes a taco a taco is how it's made and what it's wrapped in. You can't make a taco with a flour tortilla. If it's a hard fried flour tortilla, it becomes a torta, and if it's soft, it's a burrito. Just like you can't have a taquito made with a corn tortilla. Those would be floutas.

Burritos are just anything wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. I've had many a burrito that had nothing but meat and vegetables in it, without rice or beans. And I can make a better burrito than you can buy anywhere. It's in the blood.

You are right XD All I said was that I like soft tacos, and I consider them tacos, though I like burritos too, either way, it's mexican food. Both hard shelled and soft ones are good to me~~
