What are the member-only features? Posting here? Adding stuff to my reading list to track? (Who uses that chapter thingy anyways?)
I suppose there's some place that lists all the features you get when you register an account >.>

This post also counts as a post in the forum. Anyway I'm already using this site for over 5 years fo releases and for searching manga, it also helps to have a trustworthy ratings database. Sometimes I post something in the forums.

- knowing the site about 8 years
- member since 7y 4m
- first years only lurking for releases and series info, using lists service
- becoming active in forums and as updater during last 2 years
choose first option: active part of community since this is actual situation.

I chose the first option but to be honest I don't really feel like an active part of the community since I'm not friends with anybody here. I guess you're technically active if you post but I feel like you're only truly a member of a site if you've bonded with your fellow denizens and gotten to know them on a level more than just the occasional comment.

I don't know what exactly active might mean... have not been posting in forums for the most part, but I'm active updater for more than 3 years (mostly categories and decriptions), add releases from time to time if nobody before me did, post comments for the series that I think deserve one... Well I think it is active enough, not sure what to do here on forums, so if anyone can give advice, about where to start on forums, please do...

Yes i am and i registered mainly to be able to make a list for my manga.
I was using MAL before that but MAL was getting downtime way too often, so i decided to find other places for my manga and anime list.

Hey Lorska! I chose option 1 as i have been here since 2008 and was actively editing manga sites behind the scenes since early in 2009 as i like to do on wiki and whatnot.
Ah yes that special crack like feeling of fixing stuff. I further lurked a bit since then (i know all your secrets ) but only started to post regularly a year ago as i noticed that i wanted to be an active part of the conversation. I gained a lot of pm friends that way and the forums themselves are drama free. Well done admins. I further noticed that i could voice all sorts of opinions without going completely off the board.
MU itself is a VERY good way to keep a reading list bit more importantly find manga one has sadly overlooked so don´t sleep on categorizing dear community! I also save my lists once a month or so as you never know and further put all my MU reviews on amazon, Imdb and the ANN forums whenever it is possible. The number of people who don´t have an account and only stalk us will be very intriguing. 25%?!?
Edit: I forgot to add that i signed up the day i found MU.

I have also chosen option 1 even though I would consider myself something inbetween option 1 & 2. Mostly lurking and using features but occasionally adding stuff if I notice that it has not yet been added yet. Not really that active.

I went for the first option, even though it's more accurate to say I was an active part of the community and am now a reclusive hermit, who sticks to the member-only features. The closest thing is probably editing pages and stuff.

I thought you can't vote in polls if you are not registered on MU...

That is not true I have been voting for years before I had made an account here. I pick option 2 but I only lurk mostly and track stuff, I rarely comment because I'd rather spend that time reading something ;p
