You guys do realise that the definition of art may be different for different people?

All it says is if you didn't like the art, it doesn't specify a type of art.

True, that.
Still, I find that if I like the story, the art kinda grows on me smile

The art has to portray a sense of realism first, then I will read it if the story is good as well.
To answer the question, I wouldn't "drop" the manga if I don't like the art; I would not have started the manga to begin with.

i don't know how people still says "bad art" and "good art".

people should just say "art that I like" and "art that i don't like".

there are people who like generic stuff, some people who don't. some people are mistaken enough to not to give a series enough worth just of how it looks. i pay attention more to the plot, even to the feeling a mangaka can depict in the flow of the panels.

i just have to tell to those people who doesn't like "bad art", you are missing a lot of good mangas out there.

for instance, matsumoto taiyou's takemitsu samurai is "bad art" for most of the people i had suggested the manga (some were idiotic enough to say is lack of skills xD) http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=9962.
this is one of the few mangas that i know of that you can trully say that "there is a work of art on each panel"

If I said the art for something was bad, then obviously it means that I don't like it. It's common sense that it's just personal opinion.

art doesn't really matter as long as I can tell the characters apart...
but the plot must be pretty decent for me to read.
Pretty art but a crappy plot won't fly with me

hummm...... i like reading books, so even though the art is bad. the most important thing is the story. You can always get used to the art. it is sometime sad, there are many manga that have really good art but the story is really crappy and is then not worth reading.
