Just finished reading this manga called Stroke Material and even though I am not a big fan of shoujo, I have to say that I really enjoyed how this was not a typical shoujo manga. I would love it if someone can suggest similar manga where the guy is the one who chases after the girl... Also, if the guy isn't as pathetic as the one in Stroke Material I would much appreciate it.

Maybe D.NAngel? I'm not sure though, the main character runs for the girl and the girl basically sits there.

Nodame Cantabile although I wouldn't say that the guy chases after the girl, but he isn't an idiot that's for sure.

Urm.. My personal recommendation would be Special A and Kaichou wa maid-sama. And I don't think both guys in the manga is pathetic. They're really cool actually. try it!

I was looking for the same thing, but they guy can be pathetic or not.

"Kiss/Hug" by Mitsuki Kako is also nice, or at least I like it, the guy is pretty cool...
"They Too Love" is a pretty cool Manhwa... although the guy is pretty pathetic, actually very pathetic...
"Bokutachi wa Shitte Shimatta" Is cute, just like "Kare First love" the thing is that sometimes its a little too dramatic...
"Kimi ni Todoke" Is sweet... and funny, although the romance is slow...
"My Girl" By Paek Jeong Won
"Otokomae! Beads Kurabu" Same author as "Beast Master" and "Dengeki Daisy"

the art's a bit weird to get used to, but the guy is cool, and the girl isn't weak. And there's actually more then just a romance plot.

the mangaka of Beast Master and Dengeki Daisy tends to have the guy fall for the girl first, but they're also really good manga because they're really original in their romantic moments. So the whole 'Guy chasing after girl' plot line isn'treally pronounced.

Nousatsu Rock Shounen is a good manga, where the guy does fall for the girl first and his is really cool. But the girl's kinda weak, whuch is annoying.

AND Kaichou wa Maid-sama! is fantastic!
