lol.....that's why we have wars.....

people who can't come up with good arguments go for personal attacks like: "You're stupid, or You're a murderer or you're a ignorant animal lover"

Because some humans prefer to put themselves on the same level as animals and say silly things like "meat is murder" - implying that the slaughter of an animal is equal to that as killing another human being.

Some animals were put on this earth for Man to eat. It's as simple as that.
Quote from Mamsmilk
Just remember to eat healthy kids.
Moralism won't defeat biochemistry.
People go vegan when they are exposed too much to aggravated confrontation and Disney movies. Everything we eat is alive in some sense. Just because plants and such are less like us in structure than animals does not make it any less an ethic choice to end their lives to prolong yours than to eat animals.
You do not eat for an ism, you eat for your body. No matter what you eat, you are directly killing something by eating it and indirectly killing something by competing for food sources.
No matter what you eat or when you eat or how it was born and for what purpose, all living beings aim to stay alive. Every choice you make limits some other life. Even if you grew that stuff yourself, you eat food that some pest could use for the brood.

Pretty much this, really :\

Of course, there are others whose body just can't process meat like everybody else. People with medical conditions that causes them to get ill when they consume meat.

That depends on where you live.

Everything that comes from the earth returns to the earth.
Everything that lives can provide nutrition to anything else that lives.
Pay attention to the bigger picture. We're all part of that damn circle of life.

Besides, there are great forces moving in the universe. If you're worried about the feelings of some sheep or... whether or not meat is murder, then I implore to reevaluate your perspective of the universe.

well...for some species the parent eats the child and animals have no qualms with eating our children so why should we...and most of the species that are used for food have no major emotions other that the desire to eat, sleep, crap, and mate

And the desire to live. They go down screaming, struggling to live. As they realise what is going to happen to them, that they will die in a small room, by butcher's cleaver, the are filled with fear and horror, and they die fighting to live.
Remind you of something?

Because some vegans and vegetarians refuse meat because of religious beliefs, inspiration from public figures, cultural beliefs, poverty, et cetera... Some do it because they see their friends do it and wonder if it would be 'cool' to do it too. It's another way of dieting, minus the candy and sweets. Some do it for Lent... well that goes into religious beliefs.
I think it's not that controversial and there's nothing wrong with it. ... lol... none

Reminds me of prey. The thing that the predator eats as it laughs at it's feeble attempt to survive.

It's cleary pointless to compare human life to animal life. Right and wrong does not exist in the animal world, due to the fact that animals are lacking the ability for logic and reasoning. An animal that eats it's young is neither right or wrong in doing so. A human that does the same is prima facie wrong.

Therefore, the treatment of animals can not be compared to the treatment a human being deserves.

So whether or not it is wrong to kill and animal doesn't matter, for their is no right and wrong when it comes the animal kingdom. There are laws against torture, and laws that protect endangered species, but other than that, animals are expendable.

You're attributing human thoughts to animals. They don't realize what's going to happen, they smell blood and instinctively try to flee.

They try to flee 'cuz they don't want to die! Holy hell, why do you think they flee at the scent of blood - if that's true, because I doubt that - because they don't wanna die, or because blood makes them woozy!?

I personally wouldn't meat if I had to kill it myself. Killing animals is very sad.
Luckily there are plenty of people more then willing to kill and prepare my meat for me. smile

Some people don't eat meat based on the principal that restaurants that serve burgers ect like McDonalds are mass contributors to pollution. Some girl in my program was trying to explain it o me ~ my face when. o_o

Some people don't eat meat out of religious teachings.

There are many reasons people may not eat meat. As long as they aren't bugging you to be like them just ignore it and move on.

I have to disagree. Animals understand very basic things like death. They can sense danger in general as well which is why they are the first to leave when a natural disaster approaches.

When you have two pets and one dies you are supposed to show the body to the living pet so they can deal. If not they will run around looking for their friend.

well, people usually don't eat meat for two reasons- religion or an extreme love of animals. Once those people have kids they set them in the same path and after a time of being in that path it really becomes about their health. Because if all of the sudden you give meat to people who are not used to eating meat they will usually have a bad reaction, specially if it's deep fried. Also some people become vegetarians because they want to change bad eating habits in a way that will give them maximum results

I see no problem though, if the person is healthy I don't see a reason for that person to start eating meat if he/she doesn't feel like it. And, vice-versa if someone is healthy eating meat no one should force that person to change his/her eating habits laugh

Oooooh, that reminds me. My pet pukes when he tastes blood, and he's a carnivore dead I wonder if that's wrong or wrong.
