Breaking the Curse

I'm currently reading the awesome Sleeping Moon (see my spazzy comment on it!), and I'm looking for more curse-breaking stories.
You know, where the main character's family has some kind of terrible curse on it, and the character is "doomed" to an early/agonizing death, but they have to break that curse before time runs out and they become just another sepia-toned photograph alongside all the others that have gone before...
Or maybe the character has a curse cast ONLY on themselves, not on a group of people, but it's equally awful and they have to do something about it before it kills them...
That kind of story. Yeah. 😀
It has to be a fatal curse, please, not just something that is sad or disfiguring or embarrassing (or even funny, as the case might be in some comedies). It's something that could KILL the character if it isn't broken. So the story has to be serious, or at least mostly serious... I mean, the poor protagonist could die!
Oh, and the curse-breaking should be THE MAIN STORYLINE, not just an incident in the manga.
Another example is Konoyo Ibun - for some reason I can only think of BL examples right now, lol, but I'm willing to accept all genres.
Just NOT hentai/ecchi!
Please recommend. 😃

And these can be read as if the characters were "cursed".
Claymore
Painting Warriors (this one is iffy since it's so short, but it has that feeling that what he has could destroy him)
Zombie-Loan
Oh, Variante seems like one, but I haven't read much of the series to know if she tries to break/stop what's happening to her.

I'm not sure if this passes as a curse, but they do all die in the end...
Orochi I'm not sure about the rest, but the story about the sisters definitely fits.
Bloody Cross <--- Don't like but... edit ecchi my bad

I don't know if it's consider a curse but in Kaibutsu Oujo the main character will die if he don't drink a certain someone's blood once a day

Rust Blaster - fits the curse to death theme but this manga is rather short... >_>
Vampire Knight or Crimson Spell - Losing your humanity/sanity as good as, or even more scary than dying, right?
Yami no Matsuei - after a curse isn't broken... X D
Kuroshitsuji - main character kinda curse/contract, breaking it isn't the storyline... but its still hanging there darkly, waiting to be fulfilled... ^-^

its about a young man who finds out that his family have a curse on them
his mother gets seriously ill from it
while he and his grandfather gets power from their curse
so its about him and his grandfather looking for a way to end the curse and save their mother/daughter

Hand x Red - Not a lethal curse, but if he doesn't reclaim is heart(?) from the person who set the curse on him, he can only stay awake for five days, then falls into 100 years of sleep. He then wakes up for five days ect..
Blood+ -Not sure where in the manga, but there is a group of people that are slowly disintegrating and are desperately trying to find a way to extend their lives.
