Well I think I've improved considerably
in reading speed.
Excluding manga, I also read
other books like Jane Eyre and stuff.
I read a lot, and I tend to read fast because
I want to get to the end in a hurry.
That may be a cause of why I can read
fast with manga.

I spend anywhere from 30 min to an hour per volume of manga depending on amount of text and how interesting it is.
As for normal books with a story I'm really into I can easily go through a 500 page book in a day.

it depends. if its interesting it takes me up to 30-40mins per volume, but it still depends on how the scenarios are shown. but if its the boring type that we read to pass time, maybe around 15-20mins would do

It is about 30mins for me as well, but I find I read manga's with not much words a lot faster.

I'm a fairly slow reader, in general, because I have to make sure that I fully understand and absorb every little nuance. If I try to read too quickly, I just wind up going back and re-reading things.
I can read manga a bit more quickly than straight text, thanks to the visuals, but I tend to get stuck staring at the artwork. So... still slow.
Also, I tend to read my manga in spurts. I might go for a week or two without reading anything, and then breeze through several volumes in a single sitting.

I read pretty fast when I have it in my hand but when it's on the computer I read a lot slower.

I'm a fast reader overall, so yeah, I do read manga pretty fast - 9 volumes of Vampire Game in about 3 1/2 hours tonight.

It takes me 20 minutes maximum to read a volume of manga and for me to hit that time it has to have a lot of dialogue in it. I have read a lot from a very young age so I just naturally got faster and faster and then picked up a book on speed reading and though i'm no expert I am good enough to be considered speedy!
