Uploadable images have become blurred after updating the site.
Can this be fixed?

I've just fixed them! 😉
Please check them out! 😉
When uploading pics for a series, and to keep them in good quality (not blurry), it's necessary to pay attention to its height and format. I think new MU allows 478px as max height. Anything bigger than that will be automatically resized and the pic will become blurry.
I also use PNG to keep the best definition.

Do you suggesting to adjust the size of the image every time? It's not a solution. Image quality should not decline if the original image is larger.

I usually update and upload pics for some series, so I know this because I have learned this "rule" about pic size by hard.
The images will lose quality if they are too big because there has to be a limit to save space in the website's servers and monthly bandwidth offered to the users and webmasters. Since some users tend to upload pics that are too large and heavy, they will be automatically resized, and in that process, they will lose quality and will look blurry to make them lighter to avoid using too much space of the servers (MU owners, same as the owners of other websites, pay for hosting, and the more space they need for pictures and other resources the more they have to pay).
This quality loss doesn't only happen in MU, it also happens in Facebooks and other social media.
You can only avoid that paying attention to the max height a picture can have in this website (as I told you, I think it's 478px now. Before the new version of the site, the pics were even smaller).

I'm well aware of the image compression on sites. However, compression does not always imply a loss of quality. There are methods without loss.
I edit the series and autors every day and often upload images. And I don't want to waste my time correction of the image size.
Before updating the site images of any size were uploaded without loss of quality. That's what I want now.

Before the new version the pics loss quality too.
I have been correcting the pics height for years and also preferring PNG before uploading them because it's the only way they look clean and nice.

I don't see a loss of quality (blur) here and here (there are some artifacts, but not blur), although the original images were large and very large.
Therefore, I have no idea what kind of quality loss you are talking about. The images that I uploaded before site updating were never blurred.

They do have the loss quality and look blurry. If you see them carefully you'll notice some noise that appears when a pic gets resized and turned into JPG. In the second one (Wiheomhan Jaepan) the loss is especially noticeable if you refer to the author's name.

Here's some graphic example:
The pic currently uploaded in MU is 247px x 350px (direct link here)

In this comparison I made:

Left: the same pic that's uploaded for that title right now in MU.
Right: the pic I made myself from the big one you linked. I resized it to 247 x 350px too and saved as PNG.

My pic alone: here

Try saving my pic and update that series uploading it and you'll see the difference. 😉
