Completely alone for the whole manga? Not that I can think of...mainly where people get separated for long periods or small groups...

You might like El El and Hohzuki island. They follow this pattern and have high tension....Also Dawn Tsumete-te has it's moments of creepy aloneness but
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
it's a day/night switch, so it lapses between everyday school life by day and solitary monster stalking and killing by night...

Got through El El looking forward to reading more if it ever gets picked up again. For some reason, being very paranoid, in my room, while reading Hohzuki Island. I'm serious, I don't know if it is the manga, the music that I have playing (Silent Hill, Bioshock, Amnesia), or the fact that everyone else is asleep in my house (it's 3 in the morning over here). I just kept getting the feeling that something was behind me (freaks the he** out of me). I have been reading nonstop and so far I have gotten to chapter 18. Plan on falling asleep and finishing it tomorrow (or technically today).

EDIT: Finished Hohzuki Island, that was fun.

Haha I know the feeling, it was worse when I was waiting for updates for it. Given that you liked Hohzuki you'll be interested to know that there is a sequel...ish...Cradle of monsters. Although to be honest I didn't enjoy it as much as the original. Its sort of got the essence of Hohzuki but this is a zombie outbreak on a cruise liner rather than creepy teachers on an island. The brother and sisterin Hohzuki are in it, now in highschool. To me it lacks something compared to Hohzuki, but then my friend loved it so maybe it was just me, and it was still a decent read.

I would suggest you to read Junji Ito's manga's.

I already read Uzumaki, and I didn't like it. Is a lot of his stuff like this, or does he have anything besides this type of story?

EDIT: Reading through Mail, and, so far, I really enjoy it. Reminds me very much of Grimm's Ghost Stories, which is a series that I love. Fun ghost tales, but nothing scary.

EDIT 2: Finished Mail, and it does have a presentation that is similar to Grimm's. Anything else that people want to throw out there?

Spring Break is here, and this is a bump.
