me thinks the best plan of action is to get somewhere high. i mean come one they're brainless right? how're they supposed to climb a ladder or something of the sort? then i'd sit up there with stock piles of food and water and my personal little sniper rifle (it'd be like shooting fish in a barrel). and don't worry i'd be helping all you weirdos bent on using melee weapons (provided you're fighting in a plain or somewhere where i can see).

yes ur quite right, high places are the best against a zombie horde, tho a sniper is too slow, possibly a semi auto with a scope. If you're on the run and need a place to sleep and can't find high ground? Find close trees then make urself a makeshift hammock high up (if you're on the run from zombies then i'm gonna assume you have some sort of blanketing stuff for survival)

while the sniper rifle *is* quite slow, you're up high and away from the zombies so you dont need something fast just something very accurate.

i just think something as high caliber as a sniper rifle is overkil, dont need to blow their heads to smithereens, just blow a hole thru it.

Semi auto rifle is the best compromise between accuracy, fire rate and bullet capacity.

Shotgun FTW, no skill needed. Most ppl think they would be able to properly use handguns and rifles but in reality would be horrible shots. You need to practice shooting before you can actually shoot something...

handguns and rifles are easier to use then shotguns. Television underpowers the shotgun but in reality if you hold a shotgun wrong it has enough kick to break your shoulder. In actuality shotguns are one of the most difficult weapons to use because of their shear power compared to a handgun which has much lower recoil.

Still, melee weapon for the win. When you think realistically, zombies are the dead. this means their flesh is decayed. therefore, a good melee weapon can bash them with ease.

There is truth to that... I've heard before that shotguns have an insane kickback. I was just talking about aiming though. It is very, very hard to actually hit something with a handgun or a rifle the first couple of times (the first quite a few times actually). I would take my chances with the shotgun.

That depends on whether you would be immune from the "infection".
Usually when a zombie bites you, you turn into one. Therefore if you have a cut or something on you and zombie blood is splattering everywhere, it would be easy to get mixed with your blood, zombifying you.
Therefore the best solution is to be as far away as possible, not in the middle of a zombie crowd... I'm all for games like Dead Rising where you bash zombies in an infinite amount of fun ways, but being bitten once would probably be it outside a game... Then again what are the chances of a zombie outbreak outside of a game/movie?

There is no such thing as overkill. Gimme a .50 cal in a clock tower with a sawn off for insurance and i'll be good.

Or a tank.

that's all fine and dandy, now try bashing 20-50 zombies while you're being cornered into an allyway or a backroom. That's when the ol'shotty comes in handy

the point is to aim somewhere into the crowd and fire, the point is to knock them back to produce space for u to be able to escape.

I've always found that firing guns in general was pretty easy, but where I live children are handed rifles almost in the crib, well until recently. The only guns I've really ever used were a few semi-automatic rifles, 12 gauge shotgun, and some hand guns. I fired a 50-cal sniper rifle once, but that was more or less setup and all I got to do was pull the trigger, and I got to play around with an M-16 on a my great uncle's farm but it was only like 7 shots till he told me to stop playing with it. To be honest I would like to use a shotty for emergencies but what my main weapon would be is a long stick. Ever read High School of the Dead? All you really have to do is poke them back and you'll be fine bigrazz
The ultimate defense against zombies, in my opinion, would have to be the chain link fence out of resident evil extinction. Thousands of zombies pressing against it, but it kept them all out.
Oh yea, and for the shotty
