I'd help them with the essay, and proof read it a couple of times. Correct what I can, and clearly state that "I tried my best, but my writing isn't top notch, so it's best if you get someone else to proof read it once more."

That, and I find it hard to accept anything in return. Like, I don't mind paying for people. So when people go like, "omgIgottapayyouback" thing, that just annoys me a bit.

You're the quintessential "nice guy".

But let them pay you back... I mean, not only would other people take advantage of you for that, I think the other person would appreciate it too. Like you're not "buying" them or something.

Being too nice just makes other take advantage of you. I learned that some time ago.

and the nice people don't take advantage of others, which is why they're nice! Go meet nice people!!

And who cares if your skills is dead it's the thought (and time) that counts =) But there's a limit on how nice you're suppose to be.... if they don't care what you helped them with, then of course you're suppose to stop helping them. If you insist on helping them (because you're too nice) then it is your fault... you're asking to be taken advantage of!

which is why I said being nice is extremely painful... Though, that's only when nice + not nice come together. Nice + another nice person is okay cool

Actually, there are girls that fall for nice guys... I accuse my friend of being too nice all the time, and he knows it. When others try to take advantage of him, it hurts me to see it, because I feel sorry for him.

Basically, you'd want someone who's very nice, but won't be taken advantage of. Someone on guard most of the time.

... its "the nice guy" syndrome....
girls would usually rather have nice guys as male friends, so we can keep them around us for a long time...

Seems like the type of people that are really hiding something, or are so insecure with people not liking them that they are always on trying to make sure people like them and not rub people the wrong way. Not taking sides, not making a stand, not willing to risk anything and never gaining.

Girls tend to fight with themselves, the nice guys will be there for you but they arn't what anyone would call dynamic or interesting. The "oh hes sweet" comment comes to mind.

Personally I'd rather be feared, hated, or just thought of as a asshole than thought to be "cute, sweet, or a new guy". Little boys fit into all the latter leaving no room for personal relations unless you just wanted to be friends to begin with.

But it'd would make me think that, or rather feel like that I'm only being nice to them for something in return. That thought sorta, iunno, makes me a bit uneasy.

In the end, all humans are the same.

Pathetic, uneasy, scared, lonely, incomplete and desperate? confused

Humans seem more unique than that to me. Humans unlike most species can choose to completely change their personality but no 2 humans will ever choose the same path. Life is in the details, the nuances of daily existence. Can't stand post modern thinking, just cause Europe had two world wars everyone in the world becomes just as pessimistic.

seems kind of ironic your nickname is papermaster, yet you don't use proper English.....
I guess you are a 'unique snowflake, like all the rest of the people.

I'm guessing his nickname is from Read or Die and has nothing to do with how he writes. I mean his avatar says it all: R.O.D.

so you don't find it ironic at all? A work involving reading does not promote more reading for proper English? Besides......is papermaster even a character in rod?
