Lolita fashion is so cute. I wear it more often than I used to...
The sizing for brand items is always so big, though. I always have to alter stuff, and altering expensive dresses is intimidating!
Normally I sew my own outfits.
Which brands/styles do you like best?

Lolita fashion can (imo) be quite overdressed sometimes, but when it is done right, is can be really cute. I am more a follower of babydoll (example below), which is a bit more casual.
(this is not me, by the way)
Babydoll is also a style where you dress up like a younger girl, and where you wear small dresses that are tight just around and under the bust, maybe it's just the European version of lolita. Twiggy had the same style of clothes.

It would be interesting if you could go into details about why you like lolita fashion so much. For example, why you prefer it to (for instance) trousers or more casual dresses? This discussion will be a bit bland if everyone just writes that they like lolita style...

Joining the bandwagon - let's discuss Lolita <3
I like lolita because I like historical fashions; I was into neo-victorian/steampunk before a friend lent me a lolita outfit and I started liking the style. I find skirts more comfortable than jeans anyway. I haven't worn 'normal' clothes for years XP
I don't care for really frilly, bright pink, overdone sweet-lolita (think Angelic Pretty). I like a mixture of classic and gothic.
BTW, The name comes from a book about a pedophile - Lolita is the name of the victim (and the name of the book). But it's sort of taboo for Lolita to be considered sexy - even punk Lolita is pretty conservative. Many people have no idea about the origins of the name.

I'm really interested to know how much you dress up for everyday? I think lolita can be very pretty, but in my society it would be way overdressed... And the society's norms have affected me too I guess, since I don't feel for dressing very much up (it has to look kind of casual). On the other hand, it could be my age (I'd call my style mod-inspired - from the fashion around the 50es and the 60es)...
Eheheehe, I haven't worn pants for half a year either. I have like 12 pairs in my wardrobe, but never wear them. Stockings and dresses/skirts are much better! I feel so free when I wear them, hahahaha. Sounds kind of weird.
Sounds like you get around in different underground styles. Hadn't heard about steampunk before.
