Lol I'm reading some biology right now and I was confused a little with the post above; offcourse I know Acer but since all that theory was still in my mind I was thing about the trees like Acer campestre and sh*t (I know stupid remark)
Anyway in total there are 4 pc's in our house where 3 of them are laptops, so only 1 desktop. I own 1 laptop and it totaly dominates the other 2 *outdated* ones (not that mine's so good but the 2 others come free with big delivery orders nowadays). And the desktop was apparently bought just to have one. Since they didn't ask for my advice and gladly enough also not for my money, the only thing better about the desktop in comparison to my laptop is that it has about 30GB extra harddrive capacity ^_^
Anyway here's my laptop:
HP Pavilion dv9500t Click for more info on the official site
From what I can remember/find this is what's appliable for my laptop:
Windows XP home edition
Intel Core duo processor 1.8Ghz
1GB DDR memory
NVIDIA GeForce (256MB)
92GB Hard Drive (This is what's keeping me from collecting anime )
I could give more info but I think the most important is already given

Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-8GPNXP Duo
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT (PCI-X)
Screen: 19" Hanns-G
DVD+-R/RW by TSSG
CD R/RW by Lite-On
Dual Gigabit Ethernet
1 SATA 80 GB HD
Laptop
Company : Acer
Model: Aspire 5670 Series
Processor / Speed: Intel Core Duo processor T2300 2MB L2 cache, 1.66GHz
RAM / Max RAM: 2GB DDR2
Video: ATI Radeon Mobility X1400 with 128MB VRAM.
LCD: 15.4" WXGA Crystal Brite TFT LCD, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution
Hard Disk Drive: 120GB SATA
Optical Drive: DVD Super Multi Dual Layer
Ethernet: Gigabit LAN, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (dual band, tri mode 802.11a/b/g)
Acer OrbiCam
also got a server which uses 2 250GB SATA HDs and 2 IDE 80GB HDs It's specs are not all that high, 2.4Ghz P4 with 512 RAM and an old AGP vid card.

HP Pavilion a350n
- 160 gig hard drive (147 gig useable)
- ATI Radeon 9600 XT video card (can play most stuff)
-Broken DVD burner (who needs that anyway T_T)
-Windows XP Home
the rest of the things are pretty on-par with a 3/4 year old computer. i don't do much(any) tweaking of the hardware, and just keep the bare minimum of (non-anime)stuff on my computer (WC3, Steam, Firefox, VLC, AIM, Ventrilo, etc).
Also have a 250 gig External which i use to keep all my anime/manga on (though i keep a lot of it on my internal hard drive anyway).

...I have no idea what mine is
Neither do I really care (not really a gamer), but I think it's a Windows XP Emachines one. It's kinda crap. It's big and slow, but at least I have DSL. Better than nothing. My bro's laptop is waay awesomer It's just a big Dell Inspiron Notebook laptop, but his roommate put all these crazy programs into it, so the desktop looks like a Vista, it's super fast, and you can play N64, NES, and Super Nintendo games on it
