God is the only thing that lasts forever, and the unsolved misteries that will never get solved.
For those who hate the god concept and religion ,go read babylon library and think twice about what happened ok?
Make no diference believing or not in god, his existence also isn't relevant but don't kill him just because some madness.

God is a nuisance, unnecessary existence.

The Babylon library?
Can you elaborate further and enlighten us because I don't know what you are referring to.

Oh I doubt you need to worry about religious hating atheists, because for centuries different religion have killed each other in the name of God. Quite Blasphemous to think God would support them in their quest to prove their religion was the real one and their God was the only God. And let us not forget those religious fanatics that attacked our country in the middle east....

I thought the only thing older than God was death. biggrin According to Supernatural TV show. Go Sam and Dean!! laugh

That makes no sense.....if you don't believe in God, then he doesn't exist to you, if you do believe in God then he does exist to you. No one kills God because either He exists and is all powerful, or He doesn't and there's no chance in hell you can kill something that doesn't exist.

Here's an interesting discussion from youtube star The Amazing Atheist. Though I do not always agree with him, he is interesting to hear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQRG-xsw3kM

Surprised to see this opened up agen, but my original question wasnt wether it/he/she exists or not but "IF" it/he/she did what would it/he/she be.

I think that the concept of a God or gods originated when humans tried to explain the things in the world they didn't understand. It's actually really interesting to trace, for example, how something like Christianity originated and developed, as much as we can. And tracing that history also shows me that the fiddly small stuff, theories and myths particular to individual religions, doesn't mean much. I read a good quote somewhere about religion being like a game of telephone. Anyone who's played telephone knows that the original message gets extremely garbled by the time it reaches the last person, so I don't know why anyone would take every "word of God" so seriously.

However, to me that doesn't stop the possibility of some greater being existing. Neither do I think that science explaining the universe means a God doesn't exist, because one can always say "God made it so." I subscribe to the school of thought that "if God exists his existence must by necessity be incomprehensible to a living human." Basically, to meet the requirements of being God, the God will be impossible for humans to understand, because if humans can understand him, he isn't God. He's something else.

Personally, I prefer to believe that some sort of afterlife exists, because the thought of oblivion after death scares me, but that's more hopeful thinking than belief. I guess I'll find I out when I die, or won't, if it is oblivion waiting.

I guess I'll add this: those strict religions that say non-believers go to hell? Yeah, well, if God is really that petty I sure as hell don't want to end up in his idea of heaven. I'm pretty sure if God does exist, he doesn't sweat the small stuff like whether someone believed in the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Methodist Church, Scientology, Wicca or nothing at all.

Anyhow, I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts on what I've said here.

God is a supernatural being humans have made up to respond to their need of explaining the 'unknown'. He is someone in which people place their faith, a haven in moments of peril.
He is in some people's hearts, and dead in others.
He unites people, and yet separates them.
He encourages empathy, yet is the root for the most violent of wars.
'God' is a complicated concept.

This is unlocked... shocking.

God is whatever you want it to be. It's a narrative concept that impacts lives indirectly, so it doesn't really matter much unless you take an extreme stance.

I don't get why you would ask what god is on a manga site but w/e...

"God" is ineffable.
Therefore why are we talking about it on a manga site?
