Female leads?

Which Shounen (action, fantasy, etc...) series have female leads. The only one's I've seen are kind of obscure and aren't being scanlated, like Elemental Gerad: Flag of Bluesky or Murder Princess and Nagi, which is only one volume 🙁

Claymore.
I'm not sure if there's a manga for the Blood+ series.

Argh, i was also going to say Claymore. The only other on that i can think of on hand that is shounen (i think), is Real Bout High School. Also there are 3 Blood+ mangas (one of them being shounen-ai), so i guess thats another one on the list aswell.

How do you like your Shonen? Shonen Jump-ish? Do you mind other genres with your shonen?

Would 20th Century Boys qualify? The first parts definitely had Kenji as the lead, but it seems to me that the second half has Kanna as the lead.
Of course, GUNNM has a female lead.
Happy has a female lead, but I'm not sure if it's still being scanlated. And don't be misled by the title, it's not happy at all.
From my completed list:
Emma
Gunsmith Cats
Island
Mai, the Psychic Girl
Remote
Rose Hip Rose
Shadow Lady
Sirius no Kizuato
Skyhigh
Telepathic Wanderers
Yokohama Kadaishi Kikou

Ah, I should have thought to include VVV. I actually have the first three chapters by Dynasty.
I'm mainly concerned about the art style. I've tried reading Shoujo, but the drawing style puts me off, though I didn't really have much of a problem with CCS, and I don't really like how 90% of it is mush.
As for SirGir's question, I do like series that mix Shounen and Shoujo elements, like Nanoha (badassness with a cute face). I also like Bee Train's 'Girls w/ Guns' series (Noir/Madlax/El Cazador)

the one i feel stupid for not thinkin of right away
school rumbleTenma shares the lead w/ harima, but in the beginning the spotlight was more on her
i guess futaba-kun change and ranma 1/2 would be iffy?
b/c the whole gender bender aspect
and frustratedguy, technically YKK is seinen

Ah, in that case I'll add Karin, but what I meant was if you mind less-Shonen Jump-friendly genres like: ecchi, romance, yuri, sports, gender bender...

Any of those genres are acceptable.

Anything Shirow like Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed. He's all about female leads.
Don't waste your time or time will waste you.

Check out Variante. Very cool manga.
Also, as mentioned Battle Angel Alita is an obvious choice for shounen with a female lead.

Wererat42, Murder Princess is seinen, as well as Nagi and Elemental Gerad: FOB. Are you sure that you're not confusing genres?

All the series that you mentioned (With the exception of Kanna, Mai: TPG, Shadow Lady, Sirius no Kizuato and Telepathic Wanderers ) are seinen.

melee86, black lagoon is also a seinen manga, don't be confused...
And I will not recommend anything, since I'm not sure at which genre was Wererat42 referring to when he made this thread.

😮 😮 😮 😮 All Hail NeoFireHawk! The true Keeper of all things Seinen!! 😮 😮 😮
(the 😮 s are suppose to symbolise people paying hommage to the keeper of all things seinen)
I would call Tokyo Crazy Paradise pretty shonen, but the artwork is shojo and there is a pretty dumb love story involved. But hey, even Star Wars these days has bad crappy romance. It still is very action oriented.
And Noise is very seinen, that is true.
