So yeah, the last thread got locked for some reason...

I'll copy the last one's OP;

"So who watched the debate, and who thought it was any good?

I feel that McCain didn't say do anything but slander Obama, and Obama just sat there and let him do it. I'm disappointed with both of them honestly."

This thread isn't limited to just the debate though, feel free to discuss the presidential elections as a whole.

I'm interested in Palin's upcoming debate...

Because political talks can end in a bad manner?
Like religious talks...

Anyway... I have no idea... I hardly even track the political matters in israel...
But if you lived here, you'd know why~

Talks about politics always end badly, since as with religion, people get to personal with it.

Pretty much. There's no way to keep it civil when we have political hacks that have the minds of 11 year old's giving us political news.

Yeah... We're not here whether to discuss the validity of this thread.
If you have a problem with talking about a 'touchy' subject, then
please refrain from posting in the first place.

There's no reason to lock a thread,
for one person gone emotional.

Some trivia pics, that I have no clue of whether they're right or wrong.

Im not from USA but i watched the debate in it's full and have to say i hope Obama wins and not McCain, another conservative president and wall street comes crumbling down taking much of everything with it, it will affect me as a person aswell.

Obamas on the right track of wanting to get rid of dependencies of foreign oil and cutting loopholes in industrial tax and understanding the importance of healthcare, and not giving a healthcare loan that will actally effectivly tax your health insurance.

Even though McCain seems more in the loop in whats going on in Iraq, thats about it, if Obama becomes president he will get extended reports and im my mind use better judgement.

If you want to know how the election is going, polling wise then these are the sites i normally use.

http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/ is the most detailed site on the electoral college.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/latestpolls/index.htm l
Will give you all the recent polls in a easy to read format.

http://www.electoral-vote.com/ is a good site to check out that is a bit more simple then 538 but will give you a basic outlook of where things stand now.

On the debates here are the polling that was done.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/27/opinion/polls/main 4482119.shtml
That poll says Obama won

CNN poll agrees that Obama won
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/27/debate.poll/index.htm l

Gallup poll agrees as well
http://www.gallup.com/poll/110779/Debate-Watchers-Give-Obam a-Edge-Over-McCain.aspx

and in Rasmussens poll Obama comes out on top as well
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/electio n_20082/2008_presidential_election/winner_of_the_first_debate_ jim_lehrer

I think Obama won, but iam highly biased.

Until further discussion on the subject of Politics and Political threads, I am not going to allow the subject to be discussed.

This is to prevent any harsh things from being said due to the importance of the actual subject matter.

The Admins and Mods will please respect this decision and leave this thread here, and locked, until a decision has been made after we discuss this topic in private.

So, for now, locked.

As soon as decision is made, I will announce the results. If the result is in favor of allowing the discussion of Politics and Political affairs, I will reopen the thread.

If it is against, I will state it as such and leave the thread locked, in which case the Forum rules will be updated accordingly.
