Aha got yelled at by my girlfriend for waking her up at like 2am because I was shouting like crazy when Ronaldoz shot hit the bar!! He really is quite unlucky when it comes to internationals. Also i noticed that the ball is not given to him enough at all?? Portugal is really in need of a good playmaker who can pass the ball to him. They need to make Ronaldo more integral to the team just like Messi is being made of in the Argentina team in good effect. Ivory Coast had outstanding defence though and at the end was kinda happy that Portugal didn't lose because Ivory Coast had started dominating a bit and looked more likely to score. Hopefully Brazil game will be good there has been wayy too many draws so far. Is it perhaps because of the ball?? Too light or something

i gotta get home and watch the replay cause i couldn't find it online to watch but it looks like a draw which am guessing either Portugal where not attacking hard enough ivory coast where brilliant at defending.

I've heard that a lot of the players are complaining about that ball, so perhaps, but they've had enough time to practise with it.

I think it might be the case of no real pressure at the moment. When finishing in the top 2 is at stake, where losing/drawing is not an option, that's when the games should get more interesting. If anything, all these draws should mean better games to come, otherwise the last/last two games of the group will be a bit rubbish if one team has already secured their place as they wont really be playing at their best. See what I'm saying?

That's all theoretically speaking though. This is football. Anything can happen.

hmm what you said makes sense. Yup you are right anything can happen, my country New Zealand scored a goal against slovakia in the 93rd minute of the match to draw the game making it our best match result in a world cup so definetly lol anything can happen

Well, in my opinion, both of those situations happened. Coast Ivory's tactic was really good (passing the ball was almost impossible, since they were everywhere). The Portugal's coach was so scared that even didn't try to attack a bit more (c'mon, he should have taken the risk and put Hugo Almeida as the forward after the first half with Cristiano Ronaldo and Liedson's support. Instead of that, he just tried to increase Portugal's defense with a bunch of midfielders). Specially after Drogba got into the field (but I have to say that his injury compromised the attack. Since he got on the field, Ivory Coast's attack decreased quite a bit). As much as I understood, everyone is more scared of Drogba than of Cristiano Ronaldo. I'm portuguese and I'm quite unsatisfied with the coach's attitude.

Well they're doing pretty well at the moment! Their defending is solid. There's always a Korean in the way when the Brazilians have the ball.
And although I like the fact that they're playing well, I kinda wish they weren't so I can see some goals laugh

I have another question about the World Cup.

I know that there are qualifying matches so that teams can qualify for the Cup, but why doesn't it just start as a single-elimination tournament from the beginning with the 32 teams instead of having more qualifying matches to determine who goes to the top 16?

Why change things, If it ain't broke don't fix it. Anyway North Korea almost gave Brazil a scare at the end, a shame.

Just goes to show that the criticisms were spot on about Dunga's style of play and choice of Brazilian players. Seriously was astonished at how they couldn't break the korean defence in the first half?? The worldz no 1 country who has always had a renowned attacking force not able to break the lowest ranked fifa country's defense? Brazil's not gonna go far the way they are going. kaka was useless with really poor passing, Robinho was ok, fabiano useless kept on fouling the players, Maicon was brilliant and so was Lucio. I thought the sub Nilmar did pretty good. Felipe Melo hardly got involved and Elano was alright. Now all hopes lie on Spain to score some goals and just freakn improve this boring as world cup.

To give teams more games. More chances. You can loose and win the other three in your group right? The team that beat you can also loose the other 3 games. We don't wan't any flukes right?

------------------

2-1 to brazil. I say north Korea lost because they haven't got the expirence with national legue. I mean they only have one guy on the team with a mobile phone 0.o, anyways thats a digression...
I don't see them spanking portugal or even scratching ivory coasts super defense.

They only ever had 2 guys up top on rush in counter, 2 guys can't beat a 4 -6 man defense.

I bet Spain draw, The way this World Cup is going it wouldn't surprise me. Also Maicon's goal was amazing, total fluke but amazing none the less. eek

It gives all teams a chance. If you go for a straight out you-lose-you're-out style, if you're unlucky enough to be drawn against a strong team, well it's not fair is it. Plus draw results would be considered useless :/ This way, if you have pre-world cup qualifiers, all teams have a chance to get into top 16 and it goes from there. You also have to remember that 32 teams is a hell of a lot. It's natural that they'd want to cut it down.
That's just me using my logic though. Don't quote me or anything XD

I liked that Brazil - North Korea game. I'm so glad NK got one back. They deserved it. They played really well defending like they did for that first half especially.
Kaka was rusty. He hardly played for Real Madrid last season so he needs to get back into the game. That first goal though...I can't decide whether he meant it or whether it was supposed to be a cross. I mean, he shot when he was at the bi-line for godsake! What sort of next angle is that laugh
