One of the guys in Fairy Cube has being a child slave to an corrupt aristocratic woman as a backstory, and everyone besides one friend in his messed up culture is just like "but that's what his tribe is there for why'd he be upset?" It's a really disturbing series, don't be lured in if you like cute fairies and Shakespeare and think it will be a good time. Fairy Cube is not a good time.
Basara has it as a backstory, with classist/slavery overtones, and the master's son thinking he should get a pat on the back for not being *as* bad to slaves as his father (whut?) I'm only halfway through bc I'm buying the Kindle and I'm broke, but I've also heard there's more stuff later on.
The villain's main henchmen in Red River/Anatolia Story has such a messed up past that he's like the most pitiable char in the series. I mean, he's a villain, but post-flashback you're kind of rooting for him to, idk, retire to a Florida condo and quit villaining and be happy. It's messed up.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
In general, because people suck, anyone who's been enslaved or kept as a longtime war captive can be assumed to have been assaulted at some point (unless you have Magical Creep Zapping Powers, like Sailor Moon.) Even if it isn't stated, it's a possibility.
