Hell yeah!
*Wonders what Tanaguchi is doing there again...*
But wow, I don't feel comfortable at all with the people that had any connection with Linebarrels of Iron. I hope it'll turn out good, or at least honor the manga.
The production staff doesn't impress me.
The casting seems to be interesting though.
Suzaku aka Cloud will play Haine (white-haired main character).
Gaara of Naruto will play Badou (red-haired eye-patch guy).
Nagi from Ef(!!!) will play Naoto (the female main character).

I'm always skeptical when good manga gets animated.
I'm not one that follows the careers of anime voice actors, so I won't comment on that.... but I'm with the good doctor on the production team.... all the evidence seems to point to it being done by Gonzo.
Who knows, with Taniguchi assisting the production team, they may be able to surprise us... as long as the sponsors and higher-ups keep their money grubbing "for mass appeal sensationalism and bullshit" noses out of it and not force them into butchering it like Sunrise did Code Gay-Ass R2.
Sigh.... I really wanted this one to be a Madhouse, Studio 4c or Manglobe production.

Me too. Such an awesome manga going to waste...
They better surprise me!

An animation for Dogs? I'll see how it turns out.

crap. should have paid more attention to the forums...
well, all i'm asking is it'd be a 4-5 episode OVA based on the original Dogs volume and the Hardcore Twins shorts. there really isn't a lot of material to make a proper 13-26 + episodes series, unless they go with the awfully bad idea of either sandwiching it all with fillers, giving it a premature ending, or making up their own plot half way through. and the last thing i want is my 3rd favourite manga (no.1 in my opinion of being well drawn) to become my least favourite anime...

Evidently it's just going to be two little OVAs with bundled with some special edition volumes.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

looks like they're testing the waters. i can live with that. with only 2 volumes, i'm sure the budget would focus enough on the animation, enough to compliment Miwa's art somehow..
Dogs being animated would be really nice.
But what about the nude stuff in there? Would they animate that too? For little kids to see xD lol.

So. Just watched the first two episodes. Not that great imo.
For those of you who have read the manga and seen the anime. Is one better, or are they about the same. It seems the action in the anime isn't really intense (i.e. the eyepatch guy just standing and shooting is kind of boring for anime, but might be cool for the manga).
Just wondering if I should keep watching and it'll get better or switch to the manga, or just drop Dogs all together.
Thanks

manga is better, but moves too slow. put it on hold and read it in like 3-4 months
I made a recent post about it, somewhere...
So, basically, it sucks. Since you're right, the action part is really bad. Also, the expressions in the manga are better, just look at his murderous intent!

Dogs OAVs have the exact same feel as Ristorante Paradiso. Same backgrounds, similar soundtrack, same animation style, I even recognize some of the voice actors! That isn't a bad thing though. I bet if I look up the studio, it would be the same. o___o;
And I'm right, haha! David Production. What's more flabbergasting is that they were in charge of the animation for the second season of Code Geass. o___O
Anyways, the studio is more suited for slice-of-life anime, since the action scenes are handled badly. And action is a big part of Dogs, after all. It wouldn't be the same without the action!
For the rest, it's alright though. The slice-of-life ish feel fits when there isn't any action around.
