Yes, yaoi is that good. biggrin You can get so addicted to it so fast, no amount of rehab is going to save you. smile wink grin Also, yaoi fangirls tend to be willing to go the extra mile for their fandom. Of course, fangirls tend to be a bit on the crazy and obsessive side anyways.

Well you dont see guys do that kinda thing for yuri manga and besides those types of fantasys can be disturbing to alot of guys

You don't have to read it if you find it disturbing. Nobody forces you. By the way, I think a lot of ecchi (depends on how it's done and how far it goes though) as well as the bad jokes you find in shounen and seinen manga are very humiliating to females and sexist. It can be disturbing to a lot of girls. But do you hear girls complain about that? I don't like it so I avoid it. Simple as that. I think those types are far worse than yaoi and yuri.

No problem if you want to think like that. It depends on what your definition of sexism is. Some mangas are just worse than others. Shounen sucks? Some do though. Some seinen suck too, as well as any demographic.

Yes. It's true.
Like many of the wonderful people which replied to this thread,
I too, am completely hooked on yaoi. In fact, it's pretty much all I read. Yaoi fans, such as myself, read a lot of it, and think very highly of it. n_n; so it's really no surprise that a lot of the highly rated mangas fall into that category.
What is up with yaoi?
It's f*ckin hot.
that's what's up with yaoi.

Yaoi can be addictive if you start with a light and good manga. When you're ready for the harder stuff, well, let's just say you're possessed then. laugh

I used to avoid reading yaoi because I find them very cliche (especially with the whole girly She-Uke thing, which always leave a foul taste in my mouth AFTER reading them BTW!) but now I leech atleast 2-5 random Yaoi per week because I've learnt that there ARE some very good yaois around, some of them are EVEN better than the normal Het romance.

What's there to be sorry about? That is an utterly factual statement.

Unless you are using that word in a negative connotation, then that would be a shame...tsk tsk.

So what's up with YAOI?

What kind of a question is that? What's up with those ROMANTIC SHOUJOS? SHOUNEN? Do people actually like reading that kind of stuff? All that heterosexual relationships?! eek

Obviously people like them, that's why they are rated higher. Although I must say that some people have very poor taste when it comes to BL. Most of what's popular are horrid. And since they are popular, they get more screen time, per se. Most people that are only subjected to these horrid selections assume that all BL mangas are like that.

They are not. mad

Yuri is just as gay. laugh Being gay or not doesn't determine whether it is a good story.

Indeed.
Some (many) silly people think it does.
