http://www.s-manga.net/ is a good site, in e-book form, and its supported by Shueisha, and you can even purchase the books and magazines from the site.

I should mention the site is in Japanese, obviously, but if you're wanting to read raws and such, that's a great place to start.

Any further links go here:

The point is, there are a lot if you just took the time to look around.

Thanks for the ebook links guys. Hmmm, I would still prefer archived pictures though, rather than using a proprietary ebook software. Is this possible from that ebookjapan site?

And scanning them myself? I mean, given that my scanner takes about 2 mins per page, scanning a single volume would take around 3 hours of labor (makes me very appreciative of scanners).

I just wish someone had a business model that let me legitimately download manga as archived picture files for a monthly fee.

Well, you should appreciate the people who are willing to purchase the Raws-Scan every page of it-translate and scanslate it. They did that FOR FREE. And for the sake of what?

Fandom is meant to promote and appreciate the mangaka's works. cool cool cool

And for SOMEONE who steals all the hardwork made by these people and Distribute them for his own financial gains is a SCAM.

Sites owners like Tazmo or any sites that "sells" scans/releases arent worth to be called this "Business model".

and lol, why do you need "business model" when there's ebay, amazon etc which sells japanese raws and even the licensed one??
I rather spent my hard earn money buying the licensed works over ebay and Amazon where it is atleast, Legally
distributed for profit gains from the publishers and the mangakas themselves. and yes, paying for raws and scanslation which are supposed to be FREE means that you are being ripped off. dead cool dead confused

I said archived picture files, not physical copies of manga. Ebay and Amazon do not do this.

I want to be able to pay the mangakas too. That is why I said "legitimate" business model. I'm saying I wish there was like an itunes for manga, from which you could buy and download the files and read them however you like, be in on a laptop, iphone, ebook reader, etc.

Net Comics appears to do something like that. I haven't done it, so I don't know how well it works or whatever.

No no, I don't think you understand. I'm not defending Tazmo's site anymore. Nor do I want to bother scanners or have anything to do with them. I want to know if there are OFFICIAL digital versions of popular manga for sale as archived picture files that I can purchase. Not as some ebook that I'll need special software for, nor as an online viewable format. Just simple picture files.

You're kind of straying off topic...

OK, go.

Does this Tazmo guy "sell" anime/manga that other groups have scanlated/subbed? That's what it seems like, not sure though.

Either way, anyone that actually pays for digital stuff that you can get for free . . . Does that mean they deserve it? confused Dunno.

Scanlating and fansubbing is meant to be free, and taking from groups and selling it to hundreds of people...That's super-super illegal + immoral, why hasn't he been stopped? If a scanslation group did this they'd have the FBI knocking at their door or something, what gives? Oh and people, stop being ignorant. I am pointing at Fomeomega. Even if you know "he lies and uses the work of other scanlaters" you still pay him?

I mean, someone bought the manga, the anime. Someone put all the hours into making it available for you, for free. And someone comes along and not only insults the people that made it available, but the people that actually wrote it, drew it, the authors, the artists...Actually taking money from them. Have you no shame? no

Tazmo's not the only one out there, sadly.

And those of you that think scanlating is no different than what he's doing, or how it's more "wrong," let me tell you. Most scanslation and fansubbing groups make no profit of any kind, and if they do, it's from donations to keep buying manga/anime. They buy it, they put work into it for no other reason than it's something they like to do. Saying it takes away from the makers is ridiculous, and if an artist believes that I should spend money on something I might hate, they're not worth it. If I really like something after I've read/watched it, I will buy it, and I have. I've bought dozens of books because I liked them after reading the ebook, which I would not of done if I hadn't read it before hand. Tazmo is reaping the rewards of scanslation groups and fansubbers, and "tricking" people into illegally paying for anime and manga.

That's the rational side of it, but I don't really care. So I guess that'd be what I'd say if I did. I tried to be nice, and not patronizing or anything, but people that fall for that sort of scam are idiots. And Tazmo can do what he wants, but those poor, stupid people....The fact that he's still around is screwed up, does he live in a cave or something. Doesn't matter, really. Even if he did, the internet has failed me.

The people who pay him think he subs/scans (he also removes the credit pages) them and therefore thinks he deserves to be paid for "his" hard work. Noobs to the internet maybe.

He's still doing it so apparently not...
