Never attended one, I'm too far away from any ;_;
But if I could, I wouldn't hesitate attending one. They sound like so much fun .

There was one last year in my place.... but can't remember the name.
Don't have any stories, though. I usually buy DVDs and manga and get out of there as fast as I can.... I like the industry, but can't stand the cosplayers.... Besides, hot women don't attend conventions. No pics either, sorry.
There was a bunch of Bleach captains... but no Kon.

I was thinking about going to Anime Expo this year, but I don't really have enough money...or my parent's approval (I've probably already ranted enough about how my mom hates anime )
But I talked to my friend and told her we have to go next year since then we have graduated high school, so I'm excited
Although some people will probably freak me out (since I'm one of the more normal fans that just do manga/anime as a hobby), but I decided I had to go to a con at least once

Thinking about it now.... one of the guys at the reception area looked like Nobita-kun.
I'd definitely buy a Doraemon costume if the propeller on the hat could really make me fly!

Going to my first one on the 22nd of august.
Anime North is right around the corner from me, but I didn't go. :'D Maybe next year.
I've never been and I don't know of any in my area, but I would be willing to go to one at least once to see how it is. I really don't like big crowds and noise though, so I'm not sure how much I'd enjoy it to be honest.

I've never been to one, but want to go to one one day. Connecticon is pretty close to where I live, but it's kinda hard to find transportation and money and all that.
May have said this before, but when I go to college by LA, I may pop in to AnimeExpo.

There one going on in my town right now (I'm from Paris), and I'm attending^^. This one of the biggest in Europe and draw people from everywhere in Europe which is pretty cool and always interesting to meet foreign fans, who have different experiences.
I like going there to buy manga set (like a whole series, or 10 volumes of a series) because I don't have time during the rest of the year to keep on the many releases per month.
Once I'm done shopping, I stand in line (for long hours) to get signature or even drawings from invited mangakas (I've seen Obata who signed me a Death Note bookplate this morning! And I will be queueing to get one from Setona Mizushiro tomorrow! As well as a lot of drawings from the wonderful Korean manhwagas who come in France every year for the Con and spend time in the noise crowd and heat to actually draw to us beautiful drawings!)
This is the main reason I attend every year.
Then if I have some time (and money) left, I look for rare merchandising, and take pictures of people who cosplay. I don't cosplay myself, and wouldn't dare to, but some costumes are simply amazing!

That's also my problem: the friend who'd go isn't into it (she just wants to cosplay) and the ones I have who are into it probably wouldn't go to a con. Location isn't a problem for me, as we've get two or three big ones around here annually. Have been to a Harry Potter con though, 'cause my mom went up with me and I knew people who were going.
