Tsukasa's mom wasn't mean! I mean, maybe in the message, but that was being nice, really. Kyoko's mom.....man, I don't know if having a kid just freaked her out, or if she was the Grudge Queen, or what, but prolonged neglect over Kyoko's entire childhood is in no way equivalent with a few rough words to convince your daughter that she wasn't missing anything with her foster family!

I read a fanfiction story where kyoko's mom showed up when she found out kyoko was famous and threatened to take kyoko away or something like that if she didn't pay an enormous amount of money. Her mom could do it b/c she didn't sign a permissin slip saying kyoko could join the company. Kyoko joined the company illegally since she was a minor and did it w/o her guardian's consent. Ren ended up paying her mom to help kyoko and I think they got married so her mom wouldn't have any legal claim on her.
I think that is what is going to happen in the story. It'll probably happen just when kyoko and ren are happy. There is a possibility that her mom had ulterior motives for leaving or maybe she's just a dead-beat mom.

I would like to see something involving her mother because that seems to be an issue that should have some sort of explanation to it. But then, they haven't focused on it a whole lot in the manga so it might not be an issue that would hold her back enough to worry about fixing. Just like in real life, sometimes you can't get all of the answers you want and she's not really struggling with the issue of her mother as much as she's struggling with the issue of love (in various forms) as a whole. I guess it's up to Nakamura if her mother factors into that healing process.

Mother has arrived but it does not seem that she wants to interfere.

Kyoko's mom and Tsukasa's mom are different breeds. First of all Tsukasa's mom, some people have one night stands and BOOM! its baby time. Wakasa-san didn't tell her how she really felt so that Tsukasa would only think about Ikumi-san as her mother. She literally gave her motherly responsibilities to Ikumi-san who already had some kids. I think Wakasa did what she did and said what she said out of love for Tsukasa. Kyoko's mom on the other hand gives off the "you're a parasite" feeling. I don't know if she is hiding something from Kyoko but I don't think that there is any excuse to treat a kid that way for their entire childhood. But there could be other issues that we are unaware of. Even though I still wouldn't agree with Saena-san's parenting skills, at least she put Kyoko with Sho's family while she was gone... and left her there. DANG!!! I DON'T LIKE SAENA-SAN ONE LITTLE BIT!!!

Well considering that Kyoko's mom just disavowed the existence of her being a mother or ever having a kid on national tv in a lawyer consulting show. With the President, Ren, and his manager watching...
You gotta hope that Kyoko didn't see the ep. But in truth, I think she knew from the moment her mother never came back that she was abandoned.
I think there is a lot of issues. Could be pregnancy by rape, but then why didn't she get an abortion? Maybe the father is dead? Or her boss? Could be that Kyoko is actually someone else's child altogether left in that person's care?
I don't know.
But this looks like it is building up to something big the way the chapters are talking about a coming storm.
Maybe her mom will revoke her ability to act. But I think, legally speaking, with a clear case of abandonment Kyoko could either sue for emancipation or having the family taking care of her decide to be her legal guardians. Her mother has had absolutely nothing to do with Kyoko since she 8(?) that is nearly 10 years with no contact, no financial support, no care of whether or not Kyoko is alive. Nothing.
So I don't think Kyoko's mom will make a move. As long as Kyoko never identifies her as her mother.
Also, it keeps worrying me about Box R's ratings and how bad they have been.

I'm thinking maybe Kyoko's dad left her mom and that is the reason why she neglects Kyoko. Maybe Kyoko's mom is missing the word "love" due to something happening with the dad. I also have a feeling she does care for Kyoko, but in her own way. Or (just maybe) Kyoko could end up being Kyoko's mom's sister/brother's kid that is the cause of his/her death and she resents Kyoko b/c of it. Who knows..... There is a lot of possibilities that we will just have to wait and see. I just know every time they show her, I got the chills.
