got mine (N78) in the ninth so I guess I was 13/14. I had to share it with my brother though as we were in the same class, same friend circle etc. Got a personal phone when I was 15.

I got my first cellphone when I was 12. I went to a middle school 3 miles away and took the bus every day or walked. I didn't see my parents often so my biological father bought me a cellphone.
It was the Nokia 6190. I still have it in my memory box!

Until two years ago I had a perfectly good working house phone up until I moved to the sticks and ATT wanted to charge me an extra ten dollars a month to make out calls from there. So I more or less had no choice but to get a celphone since it'd be cheaper and would actually work when I needed it to. Such as getting calls for work. Got a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II 4G. Such a long name for such a cheap phone, but it makes and receives calls and came with a $30 unlimited data and text plan and 100 talk minutes. So it's just what I need.

Got my first mobile when I was about 14. My brother and I travelled to my grandparents' place alone during the summer vacation and our parents' provided us both with one each. Mine was a MotoYuva W230. Used it for 2 years before it died.

20. It wasn't really mine, I shared it with my mom since we both only needed it when we were out, and it was only for emergencies and the ol' "come pick me up from the station".
But if we really wanna be specific, I bought my first phone (outright) when I was 24.

I was 15 when I first got my cellphone but then I did bad things and it was taken away from 2 months after. And ever since I haven't gotten a phone until I was 17 but I did bad things again and was taken away for a year. But then I got my phone back at the age of 18 and I still have it now (19). Hopefully I do better, but I know I can't/won't.

I can't remember what unit it was. Only that it was a Nokia. I was 17 then and bought it using money I earned working in a fastfood chain as a cashier.

I was 16 I think. My parents figured it would be as good a time as any to get me a phone so I could call if I was out somewhere, being a new driver and all.
The sad thing is that I keep seeing younger and younger kids with phones nowadays - at ages where I wouldn't trust them to remember their coat let alone a $600 phone. I think pretty soon when a baby is born the parents will have two decisions to make, the child's name and whether they want an iPhone or Android phone.

I was given my first cell phone upon entering secondary school, which was almost an hour bike ride away, so I could contact my parents in case something happened along the way.
