What do you mean someone like me? I take a very realistic approach to relationships. So I don't assume that every relationship exists to lead to marriage.

If you're referring to the various sexual things. You must realize that not everyone restricts themselves to more orthodox practices.

I agree rape is unforgivable. Pedophilia can be, but the definition is too open-ended. I live in Canada and until three years ago the age of consent was 14, because of that I was having sex with 14 and 15 year old girls when I was as old as 26. Some may consider that pedophilia since the girls ages. But it was perfectly legal, so is it still pedophilia?

As for murder, I agree that there are a lot of people who deserve to die pretty much on principle.

I think mothers who kill their little girl's rapist deserve a round of applause.

In some countries, when a woman is raped a male family member gets to be the executioner of the rapist. That seems an awesome rule.

I guess I still haven't lived long enough to be completely disillusioned, and still hold a teeny tiny bit of hope that fairytale romances can happen.

And orthodox is good; I mean in the sense that you don't put things where they're not supposed to be put.

About pedophilia, I think the age of consent being 14 is just wrong, but whether or not it's pedophilia depends on the 14-year-old I guess; if she looks like she's older, I guess it's not; if she looks her age or younger, I'd say it is. The most important thing is that it has to be consensual.
About the legality issue; if they change the age of consent to 10, would you still argue it's not pedophilia because it's "perfectly legal"?

About a male family member of a raped woman being allowed to execute the rapist; that's not a great rule, that's just sexist; a great rule would be if the victim were allowed to do anything she pleased to him.

maybe, just depends if there is more to it then just cliche crap. for me to actually like it it has to be tragic and more then just shoujo stuff. chances r if that is the main story plot is cliche i'm just reading it for the art. pretty art is enough for me to read the crappiest manga but if it gets boring i just kinda skim. falling in love with their rapist is most commonly found in smut so just stay away from it if u don't like the whole rape thing. xp

A woman falling for her rapist could be a good psychological piece, treated properly and with the understanding that it is rape and is not right. What I have a problem with is how so many manga portray it as perfectly normal--as real love. Rape is not love, it is not romantic. Rapists are bad guys, not good guys who were "overcome by their love for the heroine and just couldn't help themselves."

Also, question: why do women in manga never seem to call the police after they've almost been raped? For example, an enemy will hire some guys to rape the heroine and she will escape them, yet in the end they go free--free to rape someone else, if they choose. Which they probably will, since their moral compass is clearly broken.

Why yes, I certainly love to see such a charming and romantic sight.

Well, mangas where people get raped are usaly marked as tragedy so I usaly read up on what sort of tragedy it is beforehand. If it involves rape I usaly skip reading it.
I've only read one manga that involved rape and that was Kaikan Phrase and it was pretty realistic.
I've read a couple of mangas with dark backgrounds involving rape such as MARS and Bitter Virgin.
Oh and yeah just incase you wonder, I'm a guy

You are not a pedo unless you dig little girl bodies. 14 or 15 years old they were probably already maturing. In this case you are a hebephile^_^ No it's not pedophilia ~you can sigh in relief now

Where I live, that's definitely classed as pedophilia and you get a major jail sentence for it. If it was legal in your country at the time, I guess it's not, but morally, I guess it's different for everyone. I agree with my country's age of consent: 16. Anything under that age is pedophilia imo (if the other person is older than 18).

GEEHHH NOOOO
well, unless the 'falling in love' part was done in a psychological way...and its clear that the girl is a psycho. Then that might be okay.

But if the girl is anything other than a psycho then that manga had better stay away from me

That's because I heard that in Japan, the police are quite useless at dealing with certain types of crimes. The judiciary and legislative system have almost no recourse for rape victims and it's common for rapists to walk away with a very light sentence or to even walk away free. And well, not to mention societal attitudes towards rape victims which still happens, no matter how democratic a country is. Well, that info was a few years old and I'm not sure how things work now.

Doesn't surprise me 'cos the LDP(connected with ultra-conservative dirty old men, pro-war hawks only interested in money and preserving power) was still in-charge for many decades, until they lost the elections 2 years ago. So there was like a hell lot of corruption and other problems caused by their incompetence. And well, governmental attitudes also influence social attitudes towards types of crimes too soo... they hold a fair amount of responsibility too. bigrazz

This sounded like a smut title...sorry to say this but sometimes I find the guy in shoujo smut titles too much. There's a difference at being taking a girl with force because she's tsundere and can't go true with her feelings than just taking her with force/raping...well you know what I mean.

It kinda makes me think that girls like that kind of stuff. Though I know better from the wild tiger at home xD

Well, rape fantasies are common, but personally, I don't like it at all. It only serves to make the female lead look weak and submissive. (not the rape itself, of course, but the plot line in which she likes it).

I hate those kinds of manga. Just because it makes something as horrible as rape seem acceptable and "sexy"...
there's literally nothing sexy about it :I
