There's just no reasonable explanation for reviving Hinata. Pain blows up the whole village, kills xxx amount of minor characters and generic ninja, but for some reason doesn't kill useless Hinata? Why?

I'd rather Kakashi be alive than her. He always runs out of chakra too early but he's still useful. Although... I wouldn't really mind him being dead, so long as Hinata gets killed off too. Fair trade right? Coolest character in the manga vs the most useless.

Hinata wasn't important at all to Pain. I think all he meant to do with Hinata was to use her as a medium to inforce his idea of 'justice' on Naruto.

Maybe he meant to torture Hinata instead of instantly kill her ? I mean it's not like Pain could actually see that six tails transformation comming so quickly right ?

However Kakashi should be dead. I like him as character a lot though but his survival just wouldn't make any sense embarrassed

Even though I like Hinata the most out of all the female ninja, she should've died. It's like other members said before me, there's no other reason that Hinata's alive other than rabid fans sending him letters.

And like someone said in the last chapter discussion, it's funny how Ino's dad and Shizune and those other nameless ninja took so long to figure out what those chakra rods do when someone like Naruto (Who isn't as smart as them) could figure it out so easily. Maybe it was the way Pain was talking to him that made him figure it out so quickly, but if that's the case, then what was the point of having those other people try to figure it out through 3-4 chapters if Naruto could figure it out in just 2 pages? It just seems like a mix of bad writing and needlessly stretching out the plot to me.

Anyway, this chapter was disappointing compared to the other chapters since Naruto came back, but it still was an enjoyable chapter.

That was so awesome, Hinata is going to be ok, Naruto found Pain's real body and Naruto is going to destroy that freak once and for all. I swear that Naruto has gotten really smart over all these chapters, hope it keeps up. biggrin

I am almost sure that Naruto will not kill Nagato. Instead of maybe try to convince him.

Yeah, Nagato is pretty wasted after all. I wonder if Naruto will have to deal with Konan or she will just stand there.

I just hope Naruto won't say something stupid to Hinata like- "I am sorry I can't accept your feelings because I love Sakura" or hope he won't be so dense to not understand that she loves him when this fight is over and provided Hinata's injuries don't get fatal

Maybe Kakashi could be brought kinda like naruto... His dad could give his chakra to revive him? and then naruto will feel the Kakashi chakra and tell the slug to help him O_o

and for Hinata..... I dun no how she is gonna live off saying I love you to naruto laugh

Great chapter indeed. Though naruto figuring out the trick to the chakra rodes kinda throws the whole shikamaru group out. Then again, they might serve as back-up when naruto heads to face nagato, I mean at this point if they didn't figure out same thing as naruto did, it would be totally pointless waste of panels that showed their discussion.

As for hinata surviving, it makes sense if all nagato wanted was to fight the fox. Besides hinata could have redirected the blade from her vital point, with her fighting style it would be a cinch.

The only thing that I'm disappointed about is how the Rinnegan was portrayed as something godly, but in the end it didn't deliver. Sharingan always wins, as usual. roll

The Nagato body will get defeated next chapter.

You have to remember that Naruto has great intuition with ninja things, complex ninja things. He's probably pretty smart but in a completely unconventional way. That's the only way he could have developed an entirely new jutsu. That's the only way he could beat the opponents he defeats, it's the only way the entire series makes sense. the other team is a pretty decent way to explain what naruto is doing without him having to explain it to Pain, which wouldn't make sense, and to potentially provide back-up or retrieve/heal his passed out body afterwards

and my 2 cents about Hinata. If not stabbed in a place where death is instantaneous the human body takes a bit to bleed out. We all know that gives the dead person a few moving minutes to say goodbye and come to terms with their impending demise. It's been done to death (a slow lingering death). Kishimoto's 'magical' use of chakra to heal is hardly new, and he definitely did not pull it out of his ass for Hinata. The reason Hinata will not die is because people know of her whereabouts and that she was injured (fatally in our world). The others didn't have that. And she will not die because Kishimoto doesn't wish it (yet). I think that if he turns this into a blood bath then the impact of the deaths that have already occurred will be lessened. (In this situation I think Hinata is far less of a long shot then Choji and Neji in the Sasuke retrieval arc)

On a side note I've always been a bit of a NaruHina fan, but with the semi-recent turn of events I don't know if I'm into that pairing actually happening. (of course my favorite pairing -that I'm pretty sure I invented -involves Naruto and Sasuke fusing and then dating Sakura). Anyways, I guess Naruto is gonna have to start courting Tenten or something when this is all over. roll eyes

Well, like with Hinata, Pain wasn't shown directly killing him, as soon as Kakashi used up all of his chakra he just dropped, and Pain left him.

Now, I know he said himself that he could die if he uses up all of his chakra but this is a shounen... When's the last time someone who fought with all his strength died in a shounen?

But Naruto created that new jutsu with the help of Kakashi and Yamato. And some of the many reasons why Naruto wins his battles because he has two sources for chakra, and the fact that he has much more stamina than everybody else. And when Naruto stabbed himself with the chakra rod and found out where Nagato was, Nagato himself knew that Naruto was able to pinpoint where he was and how he did it in ONE panel, thus making your whole "the other team is a pretty decent way to explain what Naruto is doing without him having to explain it to Pain" statement null and void.

And typing that Naruto's ninja intuition skills is the only way the entire series makes sense is completely wrong. There are times that the ninjas have multi-leveled plans in case certain things happen, only to have something totally unexpected happen that forces them to change their entire plan right on the spot. How can you have intuition about something that forces you to scrap your entire plan and quickly think of a new one right then and there? Not to mention how certain ninjas have certain powers and techniques that no one could know about or effectively plan against unless they're in the middle of battle with them..

^ THIS. Someone dying from going all-out in a fight is so anti-shonen I don't even know where to begin. It's not even a fight in shonen manga unless you have someone on the sidelines gasping about how the main character is going all-out, has surpassed his limits and reached a new level, OMG, etc. There is somehow always chakra in reserve.

I'm not especially a Kakashi fan, but still, it's the principle of the thing: he was a main character. Killing him off in that particular way--if in fact he is dead, which it seems like at the moment since he was included on that list of fallen comrades--was a seriously, seriously lame way to go about it. I mean, Chouji thought his dad was dead, but he somehow got magically revived. They can do that for useless Hinata and Chouji's dad (who we'd seen like maybe once before that fight), but not Kakashi?

Also, totally agree with loosecannon504--if Kishimoto planned for Naruto to figure it all out in the end, then all of that stuff with Ino's dad could've been done away with since it's not going to play any part in the plot. Naruto pretty much explained what the black rods were for and why he was going to stab himself with them, so in the end, you didn't need Ino & co. for any explainatory purposes either.
