Now that Code Geass is finished, i'm looking for a manga/anime series with a super dark and inteligent character like Lelouch or maybe Light Yagami.
I guess Kazuma from kaze no stigma is also an acceptable dark character.

Since for whatever reason no one ever bothered to mention it in any of the other threads, Reinhard von Lohengramm from Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu was probably a strong influence when they created Lelouch (and is probably the character closest to him, since even his motivations are pretty similar). Be warned that it's pretty oldschool sci-fi though, started back in 1988.

I find Lelouch a very Gundam character in a way, he also became the most popular anime character in one of the magazine polls they had followed by the Gundam seed main rivals...
