So I remember about a year ago reading a manga about a futuristic wartime shounen manga where it first starts off with the 2 male main characters (around the age of 7-10) at this combat training camp for young boys and it was very gorey...

The manga then takes place in the future about maybe 10 years later where the boys are separated one living on earth living a seemingly normal life while the other still is a "fighter" and is on a spacecraft. I can't really recall too many more details but there was a lot of chaos...

If anyone has any clue to the title please tell me I really want to reread it

Could be Aegis (the description suits it to a tee) - but it isn't really shounen...the dark brutality of the story just makes it feel that way, I think. (And by the way; though the genre tag says 'shounen-ai', the BL isn't really noticeable.)
