There are a lot of manga that fall under this genre, therefore I believe it deserves its own genre

Isekai is a sub-genre/setting of the Fantasy genre. There have always been stories that involve a protagonist being transported to another world. The raise of light novels and mangas that fall under the tag doesn't mean that it automatically becomes a genre.
Isekai is also treated as a sub-genre in between the Japanese people. Take a look to the Japanese Wikipedia definition for the term:
異世界は、 日本の漫画 、 ライトノベル 、 アニメ 、 コンピュータゲームなどのフィクション作品のサブジャンルのひとつ。
Another World (Isekai) is one of the sub-genres of fiction works such as Japanese manga, light novels, anime, videogames, among others.
And if you read how Isekai is presented in another popular websites, such as Pixiv (here and also here), you'll find that it falls under the Fantasy genre.
Maybe, MU users should be encouraged to add the Isekai term to the series that are already listed in the website, so people who are interested on it could find it faster. As you can see, when you browse the Isekai category, you only find 4 series for the term, but you'll find a lot more if you browse the Transported to Another World category.
Well, this post is just to justify my vote. I don't know what the rest of the users think about it.

Bouncing off of this, Western literature has had "Isekai" stories for decades with works such as A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, A Princess of Mars, Labyrinth (Which also got that shitty OEL sequel, Return to Labyrinth), The Pagemaster, and Comix Zone.

Isekai is not a genre, but a theme. I also like reading this though.

It´s a sub-form of adventure and is already a composite genre due to it needing either Fantasy or Sci- Fi to come about. So no. It would also need another name due to existing for at least 2 centuries, as Transdude1996 pointed out.
Btw. I myself always wanted so see military and/or procedural genre come to MU. Especially the first one encompasses a huge amount of manga. Even EVA or FMA are partially that, in a way.
