The title, "Bakuman", comes from "tobakusuru", "to gamble", and "manga". If there's anything we should all take away from this series, it's that some things in life are just worth taking that risk for: If you have a dream, a wish you are truly willing to put your entire heart and soul into, go for it, no matter how impossible it may seem. Go for it, cling to it, and never, ever let it up.

I loved this series so much. The ending caught me by surprise because I didn't lurk around forums much. cry sad to see it go, but it was amazing while it lasted. the ending was just as amazing.

This was a great ending he said from the start he wanted to make a work of art and end it where it was sposed to end and not just push it forward for the point of doing that.

I also cry at the end could of atleast show them kissing but sad

Well, that was a bit abrupt. I thought there would be at least a few more chapters to show how the side characters are doing and what's going to happen next... I really expected something more, everyone knew from the beginning that Azuki and Mashiro are going to get married finally, so it's a bit disappointing to see nothing else in the ending. I'm particularly curious about Mashiro's and Takagi's work as mangakas, are they going to continue doing manga after Mashiro's motivation kinda ended? What about Eiji and their rivalry? So many questions unanswered.

Gotta agree with Hanae. There was such a huge cast of different characters with their own sidestories, so this type of ending kinda narrows everything to only Azuki and Mashiro. It feels like the story changed from strolling to a target-oriented sprint since the beginning of Reversi.
Don't get me wrong, it's one of the better endings I've seen yet and I really enjoyed the whole series, however, I would have liked to see a more all-embracing conclusion with a hint to all their futures. :/

Didn't they do that, though? They showed what all the side characters were up to last week.

At least it didn't end like Mass Effect did. It was a nice conclusion and technically all the characters stories were explained, but I was hoping for a single chapter epilogue though. Oh well, great manga none-the-less.

its funny i stopped reading this exactly half way (last chapter i read was ch. 88) cause it was just bad. dont get me wrong the art was nice, the seeing the behind the scenes of the manga industry was nice but the characters, ugh the characters were terrible. only one i somewhat like was the first editor of the boys, long forgot everyones name lol. now that its finished i'll try to do a marathon and finish this series up and have a final verdict. hope it gets better

it was mostly a satisfying ending. a happy end for a great manga. My one "complaint" is that (as many have said before) it doesn't show how things work out, how Ashirogi Muto would continue, and the success of the remaining characters.

i enjoyed this series and was glad i saw it to the end. i'm looking foward to Ohba and Obata's next work.

The ending was okay but the final chapter should have either been longer, or they could have added a couple of more chapters just to tie everything together imo.

It also hurt that Takagi was nowhere to be seen in the last chapter. Actually, I would've liked to see each of their mangaka rivals as well one last time, just so they could have a proper farewell. But it wasn't to be.

Oh well, still one of the best manga I have ever read. Ohba's and Obata's next work will surely be great, too.

I thought it was a good ending actually embarrassed
They probably just wanted the readers to imagine the possibilities of the future and end it straight at the fulfillment of the promise.
