yo lighting... anyways. i just move to miami and pc isn't set up yet so i can't get to the at project site.....
but it seems this is still up and going...
ok for the magnets.. the prototype i have design... from the at project site.. uses magnets.... it is a simple electromagnetic motor design... connecting case and using bearing so one piece inside the wheel is stationary.... so the parts are listed:
2 plastic halve of the outer casing of the wheel.. each molded to a certain design..
copper coil that wraps inside one of the casing halves.
stationary axle with a holding for the magnet bracket.
a bearing spacer...
ok that doesn't make since.. but i suck at schematics so it is all in my head... lol
hopefully in the next month after i start my job i'll get each part made....
ooo and this is just for the motor i have a design to make the control of power to it is simple but can be upgrade later after the prototype....
p.s. the wheel design is made to make it free spin so u can skate without the power...

but just rumours.....
well i have been gone for a while srry about that
troubles with girls en school you guys know the stuf XD
well we have been able to come so far i see not bad at all, some are making actual parts, good to see that.
hopefuly i can be of any assistance
kind regards faculty

Yes, I realize that. That is as close to a Japanese air treck as anyone's going to get. It looks somewhat realistic, and with that wheel size, its top speed (from muscle power) is higher than what any motor will produce for that size.

thats true, but even if we had the technology to make these, and understood the science and math behind it, would we have the skills and the knowledge to operate them to there fullest capabillities?

i think so...it would take alot of practice but i roller skate alot...
it was fun at first just goign forward...then i leard to skate backwards
then i started doing all kinda tricks and stuff...and when i'm on them thier better then feet...i supose it would be the same with air trecks...just takes some getting used to and some fine tuning

yeah i agree im trying to learn to rollerskate, so that if and when these come out i can use them.
But what i meant was, were all the questions faced?
Even the environmental and ethical questions lol

I know I am late in ever posting in this topic, but it has caught my interest as I am also a fan of Air Gear. If I had any experience I would love to help develop ATs. If this ever became an official project known to the whole world, I would gladly support with funding..

I think electric is the best way to go for the power source. We can use Nihm battery to get the most power in the smallest size.
For controls I was thinking of analog touch pad under the big toe for accellerate and another pad to stretch under the rest of toes for cut power. We could use traditional rollerblade friction pad for a brake.
A gear selector sounds fun for, but I don't know if we could fit a transmission as well as gear selector and clutch for that. I was thinking to build a single gear direct drive first and once we work the bugs out we can add transmission gears later.
Send me the schematic and I will let you know what we can really fit for sure

I don't know if this would be too advanced, but I was thinking along the lines of the segway setup as far as controls go. If you understand how the segway works, you will understand that it is controlled by the weight distribution of the user. In Air Gear it's the same deal. In other words, if the user shifts his body weight forward for instance, the Air Treks will accelerate forward, and the opposite for backwards. Of course this would be pretty tricky to pull off in my opinion.
I don't think Air Treks could be utilized like they are in Air Gear. The only way we could manage something like that, is if we fell upon a greater science (Perhaps the 4th Dimension of no gravity?)

maybe this could solve the energy problem
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/04/060414011916.h tm
it doesn't seem like much energy though

Well I've been reading through this and i've noticed that the ideas are sort of all over the place which does slow down progress. I know i'm new and all to this but i've created a forum specificaly for designing and creating a prototype (as a start) Air Trek. The adress is:
http://creatingairtrek.myfreeforum.org/
It's still under construction and I could seriously do with some help but I think it will be eisier to make some smooth progress like this. I'll welcome any opinions and am looking for sugestions.
Thanks

i just came across this topic, seems pretty interesting,
http://brian-mcdermott.com/fusion_is_easy.htm
i saw this a while back when i was doing my chemistry coursework, not sure how it would help but i thought it was worth mentioning
EDIT: erm i just read it more carefully, it doesn't actually produce any energy, ignore this post

Hello everyone even though I am new to this thread I have read everything here and support making real Air Treks. I will work my hardest with you guys on designing these. It seems like Artilyz did not read the entire thread. Lighting90 already has a website. [url]http://z3.invisionfree.com/TheAtProject/index.php?act=idx
