I'm fairly new to the manga scene and I'm looking for something like Übel Blatt witch is my favorite at the moment, full metal alchemist, ares, vegabond, Kekkaishi. naruto is also good at times. nothing like bleach please witch is just mindless nonstop fighting.

Have you read Berserk? It has a pretty good storyline, I'd say. Enough to make this shoujo fanatic put up with all the gore, even. Welll.....more like good enough characters, actually.....but yeah. Kiseijuu is another one, I guess.

If you want to try something more similar to FMA than the other ones you mentioned, I'd add:

World Embryo <-- same mangaka as above, so if you like one you'll probably like the other too.
Elfen Lied <-- you should really give a try to this.
Watashi no Messiah-sama maybe, I'm not a huge fan of this too.

I really dislike Bleach and I like all of these, so I hope you can find something in here for your tastes too.

Are you just looking for any kind of action as long as it is not repetitive? Any likes and dislikes, e.g. mecha, supernatural, martial arts, magic, guns, war, horror, romance, ecchi, comedy, tragedy, etc?

Here are action series by rating. You might find what you like from them. I am sure the first few pages are this site's favorites.

My advice is not to go for mangas that are too long, though there are exceptions.

If you don't mind something with a more realistic taste
holyland Its main character's psychological development is portrayed pretty well. Its the cliche "weak kid becomes strong" but its got a fresh taste to it. It also explains some of the technical aspect regarding the fighting so it gives it a very good realness that supernatural manga don't really have.

worst its pretty funny, its got fights in it. Again its rather realistic. The only downside to this manga is the closest thing to a female character in it so far is the landlord's "sister".

thanks guys will check some of them out, is there any action manga thats epic in scale ie like Lord of the rings movies, matrix trilogy etc,

and base_coat i don't really mind what kind of manga it is as long as theres no mecha,horror or vampires and im yet to see a action anime or manga that has good romance in it.in my Opinion action and romance just don't work together, id like to be proved wrong tho. 😀

Until Death Do Us Part is one with action and romance.

The anime Code Geass is action and mecha, but also one of the best romance anime I have seen. The best romance, in my opinion, are always not the romance-centered types and include some titles with action. I don't know why but that's just me.

Vampire Juujikai is a good manga with action and romance, though the either is the main point of the story. I like it but it's probably not your type since it has vampires.

I support his four suggestions, highly so.

(I also recommend Zetman, as was stated earlier in this post.)

Though, maybe not what you're looking for, as it's not as shounen-y as what you like, I recommend Kiseijuu (edit: which was also recommended earlier in the post) and Historie.
