To be frank, most people who are on American Idol or X Factor are an embarrassment to the human race.

Very well said!

Hmm...that was entertaining >_>
Didn't really LOL though...but the bit where she says "singing is my life!" was pretty funny considering that she's claiming to be an anime otaku.

Haha. Agreed. She just said that anime was pretty much her life and then she goes on to singing and it's just like wtf?
Contradiction much? T-T

All I have to say ist that for someone who claims that they're an "otaku", she didn't even sing an otaku song. And she has a horrible attitude... "Everyone thinks I'm great"... oh give me a break.

otakus aside, even if she didn't present herself as an otaku, I'd have still hated her, based on her attitude, not even her singing. The fact that she declared herself an "Otaku" just made me more mad... what does that say about those of us who read manga and think we're normal? O_O

Well, she's pretty enough, and her clothes (first one) are cool... But she's ruined our name. And shamed us... SHE'S WEARING TIFA'S ARM BAND?! And her voice, really sucks.

what the hell is wrong with her??
i mean whats wrong with trying to atleast try to handle a little criticism...i mean if i were simon...i would probably say that she was terrible as well she was like dying!! anyways her attitude was wrong as well... she really showed in her attitude that shes not idol-worthy...well its not everyday that you have your life long dream broken but..still...she should try to see the reason...
and also...
it was bad enough that people streotype or prejudge people who like animeish stuff...maybe after seeing this they will think that everyone who watches anime is like this...*sigh* i should eat some chocolate...

eek
This is why I hate letting people know right away that I like anime.
I want them to know that it isn't my whole life first.

I have to give it to her for admitting it in front of millions... but that's just a bit too much for me.

I'm with you. She is certainly brave... even if I did get embarrassed watching her.

Honestly, I felt so ashamed of her. I mean, its alright to love anime but I think wearing some cosplay for an audition that is so unrelated to anime is so so bad. What the judges are looking for is not some cosplayer. They're looking for someone who has the talent, looks and attitude to be the next IN thing in hollywood. AND mind you I have never seen any hollywood stars that would go out and wear some anime character's clothes. So, I felt bad for her. When I saw her on American Idol, I asked myself what the hell am I watching? Did someone change the channel? Something like that.

I'm not against cosplayers in some way. For me, I think that if your going cosplaying you should mind the place your going. If its a convention, fine wear what you want to wear but if its in public... Gah! No! Criticism would rain on you. Trust me. In my school, there are a bunch of people who would actually go to school wearing wigs, raffle skirt, high platform heels, etc. And trust me they are marked as weirdos. Oh! My school is an art school so pretty much you can wear anything. wink

It's my opinion so back out.

Is it me or the comments on the video went like... ummm crazy...

hahahahaha

anyway, she got guts to appear in that show....

ummm i wish she kinda lessen the "OTAKU" thing... i mean the world well except japan isnt ready for "You GUYS" (im not qualified to take the name of OTAKU(still a noob(I just like manga and anime's)))

but still.... wish someone (a OTAKU with a lesser energy level to scream and act,who can also SING and face palm SIMON COWELL) take a stand ^^

Whatever I don't even watch American Idol laugh Everyone knows I'm an otaku but I know my abilities do not rest on singing smile
I have no idea how this shaming. Every anime/manga fan has different outlooks and personalities therefore not everyone is as eccentric as others. If people start saying things based on what they saw on American Idol, that's rather stereotypical to type all otakus under the category of the girl who sang up there.

She had guts to sing I'll give her that dead

This definitely made me cringe.

Then again, 95% of what I've seen on American Idol (admittedly, not alot) makes me cringe, so nothing new.

Nothing to be ashamed about though, she's just like all the other anime geeks in thousands of high schools everywhere. Most people I know have already seen much worse examples than her.
