I've confessed to my boyfriend! It was pretty much manga style! ^_^ If my story were a shoujo manga, it would be your typical love triange where I liked him, and he liked my then best friend (and she probably liked him too but didn't want to have a boyfriend).

The three of us were friends for a year before it happened (the confession) and he liked my then best friend. After a while I decided to take my best friend that I liked my bf and ask if it was ok to cofess to him. Once I had the go ahead from my best friend, I decided which day I would do it (31st of July) and I wore my best non party dress and was extremely nervous. We went to a game convent and on our way home we sat i a parkbench and I cofessed. I also got turned down! he said "I don't like you like that. I only like you as a friend." At the time he liked my best friend... 3 months later things his feelings sort of changed though.

Typical shoujo manga scene indeed, happy ending XD
Though I wouldn't probably wait 3 months for his feelings to change
roll

Yes, "confessions" do happen. They're often more subtle and not straightforward like in manga... because that'd be really embarrassing. People don't go "I love you!!!" until after they're going out from my experience.

I've kinda-sorta done it twice. First time I asked a friend out to a dance... which you don't really do unless you like them. Second time I said "I love you" to another friend after we were both shot (but dry!) after a night of partying. I doubt that he even remembers it.

There are some people who doesn't take "i love you" seriously though... especially friends... They just thought that you like them specially so they go "Okay o.O"

Yeah, that might have been about what happened actually. But we're going to different schools next year, on opposite ends of the country, so perhaps it's all for the best.

What I find is that for the people you really love and love you back, you become "more than just friends" without any sort of a confession.

Yeah, the natural flow... However sometimes the girl tend to think it over and usually ask the guy... "Are we a couple now?" Which results in kind of an awkward silence...

I've never confessed to anyone before, nor have I ever known or witnessed someone to confess like girls do in shoujo manga =|
Usually the guy (with the help of some hints from friends if he liked the girl) asks the girl first with something like:
"Hey, do you wanna go out with me?"
and the girl would either reply...
"Uhmm no, sorry"
or...
"Sure thing!"

There you have it. Short and simple (:

I had two situations where my sister's boyfriend told her to tell me that someone he knew had a crush on me.

But I've never confessed to anyone. I mean, I've told people that I thought they were hot or had a nice ass. But I don't think that counts.

Ah the love triangle thing brings me back. My best friend really liked our other best friend but he liked her little sister. Her little sister already had a boyfriend who, after breaking up with the sister, went and asked the older sister out. It was like a square XDD.

Needless to say, when they explained their predicament to me, the third wheel (or would I be the fifth wheel x.x), I cracked up and told them that they were all screwed xP. The end result btw, the younger sister broke up with her boyfriend, who wet found him some other girl after being turned down by the older sister, the older sister finally got our best friend, stayed with him for about 5 months and he broke up with her last week.

And me? I ended up being the poor person that was the buffer. Had to be the messenger between the two when they weren't talking, had to comfort the older sister as my duty as her friend, and had to get to the bottom of it through the boy cuz whenever my friend started talking about it, she started crying. I firmly believed in my mind that this was karma for laughing at them. Yet I know if something similar every happens again, I'll still laugh. I just won't learn my lesson.

...I just wouldn't have the guts to confess xDDD lol that sounds kinda sad o_o
At my school people would hardly confess I think and if they do it's probably face to face just saying a simple "I like you" or something around the lines of that or just asking them on a date plus most of the time when they ask someone out or confess it's not really serious and they end up breaking up sooner or later. Nobody has confessed to me yet and I don't think anyone will anytime soon xD I am too hard to approach I think laugh and anyway I have a very random personality and I'm pretty much invisible to people I don't know in school smile wink grin

T_T I feel the same way... Confessed once, after school [in 7th grade], but I was so nervous at the time that I messed everything up and ran.

That guy was such a jerk; he went and told everybody in our grade. [I'm glad I'm shot of him -- halfway across the country]

I've never seen anyone actually confessing, but a friend of mine tried confessing twice, and was rejected both times xD I comforted her, in my own... special [mean, evil, torturing, teasing] way eyes

Nobody's ever confessed to me either, and I feel a tiny bit less lonely after reading this topic xDD Still, that one guy needs to stop reading and notice me roll eyes laugh

Most of the people don't even confess because they get togerther after going out with each other til one of them kiss the other one. Btw, I've never seen so many people confess by saying "I like you" or "I love you" like in mangas. I think that is just rubbish, word like "I love you" only comes after being lovers. The worst confession, that only kids use is: Do you wanna be my boyfriend/girlfriend? I've heard that 10x times in my life. confused

I have never, but I have been confessed to multiple times, not including my boyfriends. It was typically the "I like you", only once was it "I love you". Unfortunately for most, I either didn't care for them or wasn't single.
