Hunger for scanlation meter.
I would like to suggest a better mechanism for scanlation groups to find out which series are more wanted or which series people wish to be scanlated.
From what i guess scanlation groups find which series to scanlate by their own tastes and desire to scanlate the series and deliver it to other people. Finding a good manga here to scanlate is difficult using public wish lists and the series voting system.
Therefore i suggest a section in which people can accurately vote/express their desire for the series to be scanlated and i'm sure that series which are very wanted will suit the tastes of scanlation groups and they would want to scanlate those series.

I'm only suggesting, i have no knowledge of code or how to execute this idea.

Wouldn't "hunger for scanlation" be proportional to the number of people that have it in their reading list?

Which to scanlate would be a subset of the above with the premise of not being translated in a while.

Most of the time people can just go to a scan group and ask for a specific series to be scanlated.

While that is an interesting idea, most scanlators don't care what their fans want. Such in my case, I do whatever I want not really caring about the fans at all. Might seem a little mean, but after doing this for so long it becomes clear that the most fans don't care about me, they just want their manga faster. And if you do give them what they want, they get on your case more. It's a vicious cycle. So, that said, I will do what I want. If the fans like it good for them.

And for finding series, that's pretty easy. Most scanlators, not counting the n00b groups, stay up to date with mangaka's blogs, magazines, and buy stuff off jap sites. So we don't really have any trouble finding projects.
