Something for my Younger Brother...

Hi,
I am currently trying to get my 14 year old younger brother into SHOUJO stuff, particularly through ANIME since he seems to prefer that medium (and has a pretty big disdain for manga --).
But since I don't actually watch any anime, I'm kinda clueless as to what's good or not. ^^;;
Of course, preferably something SFW.
Currently, I'm thinking of either Shugo Chara or Skip Beat! right now, since I heard they were both good (but really, which is better?), but still not quite sure if they would be right for him. So I'm also very open to any suggestions as well~
He Liked:
(anime) - One Piece, Reborn, Aishiteruze Baby, Gurren Lagann, Host Club, Fullmetal Panic Fumoffu, Lovely Complex, Saiunkoku Monogatari, Death Note and kinda Code Geass.
(manga) - Absolute Boyfriend, Usagi Drop, xxxHolic, DNAngel, Fairy Tail.
(comics) - Gunnerkrigg Court, Electric Girl
Didn't really like:
Macross Frontier, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, Ludwig Kakumei, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, Tsubasa RC, and maybe Gintama. As well as pretty much most mecha, sports and kinda dark depressing stuff.
(sorry, he has pretty picky tastes... ^_^;; )
Any advice would be greatly appreciated~ 😃

Fruits Basket is a great shoujo anime (in my opinion) - as long as you don't mind that the ending leaves things slightly different from the manga (because they made the anime before some of the more important reveals were made). It's still worth watching.
It's not shoujo, but you might try Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle or xxxHolic. Midori no Hibi is a pretty good comedy anime also.
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

Ouran High School Host Club was the only
shoujo I watched to the end and seeing he
watched it already... Guys at that age
can't follow stuff with too little tits and fighting
too well, so good luck. I don't think there's much
hope. : D

Manga & Anime
Lovely Complex (Shoujo) - Very good! :3
Bokura Ga Ita (Shoujo) - I've only watched the anime, but it's pretty good. 😛
Kuroshitsuji (Shounen) - This one's shounen but the art's really good and the story is great. I prefer the manga over the anime. I love the opening and endings. x3
Death Note (Shounen) - I loved this anime. o: It's probably my 2nd fave of all time. I collect the manga, but I barely read it. xD'
Perfect Girl Evolution (Shoujo) - This one's really good. I adore the main character. x3
Zippy Ziggy (Shounen) - This one's completely hilarious. xD'' There's just a whole lot of randomness...
Otomen (Shoujo) - This one's just really awesome. x3
Gokusen (Josei) - I love this! :'D
Basara (Shoujo) - Th manga's better than the anime. The anime just kinda...leaves off in a weird spot. o.O''

Hmm... All those titles are pretty strong in subtext shounen-ai. I'll try them... But he doesn't seem to like too dark stuff and is pretty paranoid that one day I'll slip him a BL title... 😛

Oops sorry, I forgot to add those titles. He has read FB, but thought it was too "girly" (but for some reason still liked DNAngel 🙄 ). He also thought xxxHolic was okay, yet didn't really like Tsubasa RC.
To be honst, I once considered introducing Midori no Hibi (and GTO) to him, but changed my mind in the end since I realized there was a bit too much nudity than what I'd be comfortable making him read...

Oops, forgot to add that he has already watch SaiMono (which he liked). But I don't think he'd be too into VK since he kinda avoids dark themed stories. Though I'm not familar with all the titles you listed above, I think some of those are pretty strong titles that he would like. However, I'll have to try giving those to him once he has gotten over his laziness when it comes to reading manga~ 🤣

I never really considered Hot Gimmick before (since I thought the content might be a bit too "mature" for him), but now that I think about it, I actually think he would like it seeing how he was into Absolute Boyfriend before. 🤣

Sorry again, but I forgot to mention he has already seen Lovely Complex and Death Note. Kuroshitsuji.... I think might be a bit too dark for his tastes, no offense. However, I think he would really like Otomen, Othello and Gokusen. The others, I can't really say since I'm not too familiar with them... 😛

I honestly haven't read the manga for Midori no Hibi - I was strictly going by the anime. It's a bit ecchi, but it's not that bad, IMO.
I definitely second or third the Oresama Teacher manga since he liked Ouran.
The Wallflower (the anime for Perfect Girl Evolution) would probably also appeal to him. It has similar silliness in it like Ouran.
Since he liked Sailor Moon, he might like Pretear. The anime is slightly different from the manga. The manga has slightly more comedic moments, and it has a dark moment that isn't in the anime. I like them both, though.
I've heard a lot of guys say they like Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha as their favorite magical girl series, but I don't know anything about it.
