Friend is manager at taco bell so I will head up there, or go the DQ I worked at for 2 years (they always give me free food). If at home I usually just have some cereal or something.

Your roommates' shoelaces.
Don't eat your own. That's just crazy.

Yeah, that would be crazy if you ate your own shoelaces. biggrin

Oh, and rice and soy sauce is the stereotypical meal for a broke person.

I just tell someone I'm hungry. Sometimes I don't even have to say anything at all. Just stand there. People are compelled to feed me.

Go into a place like iHop or something, ask for a heated water and those soup crackers (both free). Mix ketchup in the water and eat w/ crackers for a free tomato soup. ;D

Inexpensive, nutritious, and satisfying foods:
  • potatoes
  • oatmeal
  • ramen
  • peanut butter
  • dry beans
  • rice

Yes, I've had to live on nothing but oatmeal and potatoes for over a month.

Thanks for the adds, Spawnblade. smile

I'd also have to throw rice in with that. And beans as well . . .

Telengard laid it out well.

Ramen especially, seeing as I've seen a serving (300ish calories) be on sale for 10 cents, with an additional sale that gave you 5 dollars back for purchasing 100. How they manage to make money selling these things at 5 cents a pop, I have no idea.

Peanut Butter and a loaf of bread go a long ways. I can get a loaf for what.. 2 bucks? And if you throw peanut butter on that, you can have 3 days worth of meals for little more than the cost of the loaf.

Oatmeal... Non-packaged kind, is dirt cheap. Packaged kind, is much more expensive.

Potatoes - I'd also have to throw rice in with that. And beans as well, simply because while beans are more expensive, you don't need a lot of them to get a lot of nutrition.

If your desperate.. you can survive on water and bread. and u can add many things to bread. (peanut butter, butter, sugar, ketchup ect.) can of chicken broth isnt always expensive.plus most of the time its super salty so u can water it down . (rice seems like the azn way)
