In few romance mangas/animes you've read so far where the usually beautiful, long-haired girl is the main female lead of the series, there's gotta be a busty, short-haired girl (sometimes tomboyish/crude but not always) as her rival who loves the MC but remained forever unrequited.

Some examples of these unlucky maidens are:
-Ranko Saouji from Sankarea
-Kanzaki Akari from Kimi no Iru Machi
-Yuigahama Yui from SNAFU
-Nanasato Yui from Koisome Momiji
-Shimotsuma Sylvia from Wagatsuma-san no Ore wa Yome
-Makimura Chizuru from Holy Knight
-Tachinoki Motoka from /Blush-DC.

Since the manga I've been reading recently were filled with them, I wanna see where the busty, short-haired girl gets the MC instead. She can be the main female lead or a rival but the MC picked her (unexpected) like Ichigo 100% but without the shit tons of indecisiveness through out the way.

It doesn't have to be a romance-centered manga/anime. If the romance is secondary, then it's ok too, just not so subtle. Tsukihime fits (hell yeah, Arcueid!).

Your request reminded me of a silly Disney made movie called Tangled. The reason why it reminded me of the movie is kind of a spoiler though.

At the beginning of the movie the female lead is blond, but towards the end she is forced to cut her long hair. I dare say she looks 10 times better with the short brown hair than she ever looked with the long blond.

The girl wasn't busty and she is pretty much the only girl in the movie.

Other than that I could name some more of those unlucky maidens, but that's probably not what you want...

Ai Yori Aoshi comes in mind. It actually fits the bill 100%.

I'd say you're being the prick wafflestatus. Suggestions don't always fit exactly 100% what the OP was asking for, and I think it's rude to say hey your suggestion was terrible (when you're not the one asking. Wait even if it was from the OP that still rude).
Now asking how does one suggestion fit; that's a different story. Telling someone it's wrong is messed up, and can lead to thread hijacking. I'd suggest just dropping the matter. (This goes to everyone. Yes, even I won't make any more comments on the matter)

sigh now I'm going off topic. Well to bring this back on topic I'll throw in a suggestion.
Sweet Black she's not busty, but her type would normally make her fall under the unlucky maidens thing. She does have short hair. Sorry this is the best I can suggest.

Gotta agree with wafflestatus. Some of these suggestions don't fit. I want a short busty character too. I was actually thinking of post something like this just now to.

I too agree with wafflestatus. Midori no hibi doesn't fit at all either.

the protagonist picks the harem route which also includes a character as you requested

but the series is still ongoing, so I'm not sure where it is heading.

Imagine being the OP and slogging through 7 volumes thinking she does based on the suggestion, only to get to the end? If anything, that's what's rude. It's kind of like slipping a netorare title in a list of suggsestions when the thread creator was looking for vanilla romance. That was all I was trying to convey in my first post; it wasn't intended to be hostile.

Anyway, in order to contribute meaningfully to this thread I'll suggest Kuzu no Honkai, even though she's not terribly busty.

Let's just say your approach was wrong. I can understand an OP asking for something, and you see a suggestion that doesn't fit (I guess in this case the opposite of what was asked) so you feel like you should say something. However, asking the person who made the suggestion 'How does it fit?' and saying 'Your suggestion would get make me upset. Your suggestion is wrong.' are two different things.

In short if you would have asked sunder why he suggested Countrouble, because you can't see how it fits would have been the better approach. I could have seen this post going in a different direction if I had flat out said your suggestion is wrong.
I know I've made suggestions that are a stretch or really out there, but to me I could see how it connects. ( I guess this is why I was siding with sunder).

Ok I thought of another suggestion that may fit the OP. Maybe Girls Saurus, and it's sequel?
