How did we get to bathing? confused

Back to topic, to all female otakus, would you prefer a guy who is more otaku meaning that he goes to like conventions regularly and collects anime/manga/figurines ect. or a guy who just loves watching and reading manga? I guess more otaku or less otaku. Also, to all otaku guys, what would you rather have in a girl, more otaku or less otaku?

back to other topic, I shower everyday.

One or two figurines is okay...more than that is just wasting money, imo. no I've only gone to two conventions myself, but the next one I go to I definitely want to cosplay for my boyfriend~ But together we've only gone to one, so I guess I should say mainly one who likes manga, anime, AND video games (can't forget about them T_T).

Hmmmm that's a tough one...

I've never been to a convention but I think it'd be fun, and I do have my own somewhat random collections so I wouldn't really have a problem with a guy collecting figurines or whatever. On the other hand, more money spent on figurines = less money available to spend on manga. laugh

I don't think I'd really mind either way. There are certainly a lot worse things a guy could be into.

I don't mind the figurines as long as it doesn't reach colossal proportions like 100+. I would like a guy with a lot manga and anime actually... then he could lend them to me. XD

I totally agree with you. guys could lend us the manga and anime they already had that is if we haven't dl the same. I don't mind figurines too but having someone to discuss what anime i watched and mangas i read and forming some theories of what will happen next is enough for me already smile wink grin

I always said to myself that 24 hours in a day is really not enough for me what with 8 hours of working ( do overtime if I am unlucky) and then reading, downloading mangas and watching dowloading animes/series, soundtracks and stuff so how can I have time to look for a boyfriend and the fact that i don't want to waste time if the "potential"boyfriend doesn't understand the stuff i go "gaga" about. I even told my friend that I think i'm not planning on getting married cause i can't give up my passion for mangas and animes if my partner to be would not appreciate it.

Quoted for truth. Exactly how I feel about it right now (except replace boyfriend with girlfriend).

As for would I want more or less geekiness from my partner.. as long as she wasn't the japanese version of an otaku I think it'd be all good... myself, I don't really forsee myself going to cons or anything, but if that's her type of gig, go nuts.

I think it'd probably be more important that our anime/manga tastes overlap.. if all she's interested in is "teh yowey" and shoujo, there's still not going to be a heck of a lot I could relate to her about bigrazz

"teh yowey" laugh funny...

I think I would be fine if my partner was interested in "yowey" (haha, still funny). Though I don't think I would watch it with her...might be weird... eyes

Oh I wouldn't mind if she liked yowey and big eyed bishounens.. but she'd need to also have some interest in other genres as well y'know?

Otherwise you'd both be watching anime in seperate rooms and a typical conversation would be something like

Guy: "oh em gee! The latest episode of Bokurano blew my mind. Dung Beetle is like a criminal mastermind!"
Girl: "Oh, okay..."
*awkward pause*
Girl: "Did you see the latest Sasuke x Naruto doujin? AWESOME x 1000!"
Guy: ".... ..."
Guy: "..."
Guy: "Yeah, so how about this weather, huh?"

haha, that's great. I see what you mean now. That would be very awkward.

Guy: "No way! AWESOME x 10000!" laugh

Lol guess you are right about that. I still wouldn't have much to talk about if she only reads the doujins or yaoi stuff. But that is still better than a girl that thinks lowly of you for reading manga or watching anime though. so i guess it will be fine as long as yaoi and doujin are the only things he reads lol.

Girl: "Did you see the latest Sasuke x Naruto doujin? AWESOME x 1000!"
Boy: "No but the latest Sakura x Hinata doujin was AWESOME x 1,000,000!"

no offense but those short, chubby hispanic girls that have their belly flopping over their miniskirt that is SO disgusting!

Ouch, that was mean. I think guys who watches anime have higher standard than normal folks.

Just a couple of days ago I saw anime couples on a group date in the mall. They seem to dress in something between cosplay and punk. Black, cat ears, and top hat. I almost laughed out loud. I think you'll be more of a hard core otaku when you're going out with one as well.

lol at the yaoi-yuri-doujinshi couple. laugh

Word. xD (I can't believe I just said that)
It does seem that there are some people who have very high standards after reading/looking at their ideal pretty girl. >_>

Sometimes, I even wish I was in a manga. I mean, everyone looks better when they're drawn (without having a mean purpose), right?

I swear that every guy here has this high standard of outer appearances of girls in this school.. Beauty is only skin deep. : |

My opinion on this whole thing is that besides the creepy people, there are a lot of people who like manga but aren't open about it. i mean i like wasting time with anime, but nobody knows that, so the girls who like it are just gonna think i'm a normal guy, and ignore me.
like, i know no girls that like manga. there are some i know out there, but they hide it, you might just like find a doodle on their notebook or whatever. but yea, im just a high school student and there isnt much dating goin on at my school so ya, don't look to me for advice.

That's a good point. While I don't hide that I like manga & anime, and anyone who spends much time in my house would certainly know (shelves & shelves of manga, mainly), there's no way casual acquaintances would know - it's not like I have "I love manga!!" stamped on my forehead. smile wink grin
