Hode really? I don't think it will be Jinbei, it will probably be the whole vivi like situation. She wasn't the leader but needed to stay to help rebuild and run things. Their going to need someone there to protect/ help change fishman island. As much as i'd like to say luffy can pull the same protection as whitebeard just by name, he still isn't even close to being on par with whitebeard if he had this much trouble with this fight, underwater or not. Personally it just shows that he has room to grow which i like. Anyway the other reasons are why i don't think it will be Jinbei. And before anyone says well everyone he asks joins eventually, no he did ask Vivi and its a similar situation. He is needed on fishman island.

I know what you mean. Luffy almost fainted from blood loss. Given how ****ed up he's gotten from previous battles (his fight with Crocodile comes to mind), I didn't expect Hordy's bite to end up doing that much damage. Granted, Luffy was doing some crazy stuff with his gatling elephant gun, but blood loss is not something I would have expected to stop Luffy.


Nah, it was Shirahoshi's ability to essentially command the strongest army/fleet (for lack of a better word describing all of the Sea Kings) in the One Piece world.

The only problem I have with Jimbe joining is him screwing with the order of strength in the Straw Hat crew. I was under the impression that it was and would always be

1. Luffy
2. Zoro
3. Sanji

It's not outside the realm of possibility that Jimbe could overtake Sanji or even Zoro on that list. Also, everyone on the Straw Hat crew has some sort of "job" or "title" -- captain, first mate, navigator, sniper, cook, doctor, archae ologist, shipwright and musician. What exactly would Jimbe be? Resident fishman?

but for the ppl who say the next member should be a girl i think that Jewelry Bonny will be the next female member. i mean out of all the 100k+ rookies from 2years ago she had the second most page time (next to the doc) and she was there for a couple of important events (first run in with the royal t... forgot name.... and saved zoro from killing him, in the auction house when everything went down, the end of the white beard battle, first to fight black beard) and also because she was beat by black beard she will probably want revenge having a common enemy and join the crew after she breaks out from jail (probably will run into zoro and remember him from 2 years ago) .... also look at ch498 she eats like luffy...

And don't forget that Jinbe's bounty is over 400 million, higher than Luffy. How could there be a crew member with higher bounty than the captain?

I doubt that jinbei will ever surpass zoro in strength...maybe sanji. But anyway, who says that after this arc the world government doesn't raise luffy's bounty once again

its not even official that he has joined yet and it really doesn't matter whose bounty is higher because, in the end, luffy is the one with the will of D, not jinbei

Bounty doesn't necessarily = strength
Look at Chopper's puny bounty yet he's way more stronger than either Nami or Usopp. Who cares if Jinbei's bounty is same or more than Luffy's. Strength wise, Jinbei is probably as strong as Sanji (as displayed by both taking on the same enemy in the FI arc), but not stronger than Zoro.

Also, Luffy's crew has become more wacky. As if the monster (Chopper), cyborg (Franky), talking skeleton (Brook) wasn't enough now they even got a fishman (Jinbei) if he joins. Jinbei will most likely join since Luffy doesn't take NO for an answer.

Since Ace asked Jinbei to take care of Luffy, I guess Jinbei can be the new "older" brother for Luffy especially with the whole sharing blood at the end and everything.

I think the next nakama to join the crew will (and should) be a strategist or at the very least a scout of some sort. Since they are all ways rushing into things and hoping for the best. I was hoping Perona would have been it since she's the perfect scout with her out of body ghost thing.

Luffy might screw up all strategies though, but who knows?

has everyone forgotten about Caribou? He stole all the gold, but has no way off the island. Unless by some fluke he manages to kill all the strawhats. I would very much like to see how he would fit into the crew. I think he's as dangerous as he is hilarious.

lol Caribou really is hilarious, his faces are just priceless. I don't know about dangerous though... maybe to really weak grunt marines but I don't see him posing a threat to the Strawhats. He's on a different level from a real villain like say Blackbeard.

On a side note, what manga is your avatar from? Looks really familiar but I can't place it.

Well, if they manage to stick him in a barrel again, he won't be very dangerous. but still, he seems to have a bottomless pit for a body, and it's never a good idea to underestimate a logia type.

Don't think Jimbei will join their crew. It would be awesome if he did but I think it will be someone from the New World.

I think the blood loss thing was just thrown in there to show that through the crew's efforts, the fishmen were brought around to believe humans aren't the scum they thought they were.
