As the titles states I'm a huge fan of Anano Inio I've read all his work that has been translated.

I'm looking for something that goes into the depth of life if that makes any sense.
I guess what I'm looking for is something similar to What a Wonderful World.

Thanks in advance.

No one writes quite like Asano (except possibly for Murakami Haruki, who he seems to derive quite a bit from, but that's a whole different ballgame.)

I'd guess that you would also enjoy Yesterday wo Utatte, Sangatsu no Lion, Endo Hiroki Tanpenshuu, and possibly Undercurrent.

These are all probably a bit more melancholic than Asano's usual tone (Solanin aside), but they tend to deal with the same furiitaa-washout types that are a little down on their luck and just struggling to make sense of things. At the very least, they're in the same vein.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

Thanks for the suggestions. I've read Edno Hiroki Tanpenshuu and Sangatsu no Lion and I'm reading Yesterday wo Utatte. I'll take a look at Undercurrent.

I suppose some of Taniguchi Jiro's works might be to your liking. Especially ones like Haruka na Machi e and Chichi no Koyomi

You could also try Undecided and Kinderbook

I'm rather doubtful, but you may enjoy Yunagi no Machi Sakura no Kuni, Bouken Shounen and Taiyou no Ichiwaru as well.

T_T Solanin is on my "to read list"... but I'm guessing that it's a melancholic, slice-of-life style? My suggestion would be Not Simple. I second Taiyou no Ichiwaru. Sorry I'm not all that helpful...

You may also like Kabocha to Mayonnaise , Obrigado! (the last chapters were particularly noteworthy), Gogo Monster and seconding Undercurrent.

I also love Asano Inio. I will say that although Sing Yesterday is good, its not exactly ideal. Only maybe 3 chapters of Sing Yesterday get released a year. Approximately 1 volume ever 2 years.

You could probably pick through a lot of Kotonoha releases and find things in the similar vein. But not all are necessarily in that loosely related stream of short stories feel. Although a bit more on the sci fi side, I think Kakutoshi no Yume, by Kitoh, has a similar feel to it. Going to something that feels more like Asano Inio's longer works, I'd have to say something along the lines of Swweeet or The Music of Marie would be good.

I'll also second Kabocha to Mayonnaise. It has a very similar setup to Solanin, but goes in a very different direction. I don't find it nearly as good as Solanin, but its still quite satisfying.

I'll throw in Yasashii Watashi, for no other reason than that it's a personal favourite, and only slightly less so than Solanin.
